i have been sellin off alot of my projects(including the 34 shop truck) the last few months, and didnt really plan on building anything for "me".....but i couldnt pass up this one.

its a 71 formula, 400/4spd, disks all around, t/a fenders& flairs, t-top roof(i actually did the roof for the guy about 10 years ago) the car got torn apart a couple years back for body and paint, its sportin a really nice black paint job with a few lil issues i will fix, all the int parts a brand new in boxes.

it was dark when i got it to the shop tonite...so i will try to get some pics asap.

the t-top roof is off a 78'ish, that was a fun project trying to figure out the best place to splice the wrap around back window roof with the flat back window qtrs on the 71

Hope you have that fender/inner fender, they don't make reproductions. Looks like a basketcase, but a great foundation for a builder. I kinda like 71 formulas also :D

Very cool.

Makes me even more frustrated when my friend backed out of selling me his all original 2-owner 60K mile '73 SD-455 bird about five years back. I really liked the car. So does he, which is why he kept it.

it looks a lot worse than it is...in part to haulin to the shop on my open trailer in the rain. i do have the fenders/inners, they are in the enclosed trailer outa the rain along with the new int parts. i need to find a replacemnt lower valance for the front along with the lower chin spolier... they are the only parts that are beyond fixxing.

the "plan" as of now is to keep it pretty simple, fix the few minor paint issues, assemble it, get the int in, find some cool big wheels and drive it. the car is 99% new mechanically..... the car has the "best" factory options of the various years t/a's...... as the buddy i got it from is a poncho freak. power windows/locks, a/c, 4 wheel disk, ws6 springs/bars, quick ratio box, 3:42 posi

the car isnt anything super special, and the t-top roof kills whatever value the car "mighta" had restored, so in my book it makes a great driver.

You should definitely stick with that hood, looks great. Will you go back stick or auto?

the hood stays..... its "different" than the same ole shaker scoop. the 400/ 4spd are gonna stay for now too. i do have a spare 455, and a TKO is just a phone call away :unibrow:

i think i found the wheels i wanna run, i just need to figure out what size, im thinkin about staying witha "sane" 17", probably 9's & 11's with 275's & 315's
