Okay saw this in the web and decided to buy it. The only problem i have had so far is trying to stop painting my car. It's a blast and great for giving you idea's for your car. It was only $60.00 so i my eye's it's money well spent.

The image quality has been reduced by my web gallery. I can't seem to figure out how to stop it from doing that.

Marty....I think the last picture Red body/Black top is wicked. Now you just have to get Kenny to agree.

This is a fantastic idea!! Money well spent! This could be alot of fun and a big help on making a decision on color combos.

How no-brainer is it? I suck at PhotoShop but want to try out some ideas before I lay paint. I wish I coud see a demo or something. Do you have to be an artist?

Great product! I had the opportunity to talk with Carter (the software designer) at the HOK booth at SEMA. He demo'd it for me....all I can say is HOLY CRAP! It's very comprehensive and relatively easy for the beginner to play around with colors and graphics. He's a member on ProTouring.com under the name "ALLCAR" I believe. You can also shoot him an email for more info:

Carter's a great guy and will help you with any questions you have!

You don't have to be even close to an artist. Here are a few I did in 15 minutes each.

By the way, this is a real project. Which would you choose?

I like 1 and 3, but I dont like the purple outline on 1, I think with just the black on the graphics it would work. The purple doesnt do it for me. Otherwise the black and red is classic!

I like #3, but I am a fan of red, so keep that in mind.

so, do those graphics actually exist on the truck and you just changed colors, or where they something you hand-drew, or in a list of options on the HOK program?

The base truck in the software is solid gray. There are a ton of pre-designed graphics that you can shrink stretch rotate etc. The one i used is part of the software. You can also draw your own stuff. Once you have a design then you can just change colors. It is as easy as it gets. You just have to make sure they have a car or truck in this case that is the same as what you are working on. You can also export the image and use a higher end package to take the mirrors off, change wheels etc. I'm not quite there yet. Anyway I highly recommend it. I'll post some more designs when I get back to my desktop computer. With the price of paint jobs these days this is a no brainer.

good Luck,
Chad

So they have stock images you play with or you import your own picture? Sounds like stock pictures, but what if your car is mod'd so far it doesn't look like anything they have, can you import your own?

They have a database of 187 photos of different popular cars included in the software. They are expanding it everyday and offer upgrade software to the full version.

You can buy two different packages:

1. $50 you get the single version- you order the software that includes the base photo of your specific vehicle.

2. $300 you get the full version- 187 photos of different popular vehicles. There's also the upgrade available for pre-July 05 versions for $99.95

Here's a link if it hasn't been posted yet.

Wow... how I missed this one I will never know. Hello I am Carter and yes I am the one who did the software for HOK. It is very exciting to see what all people have to say about the software. It is database driven, as Ben said (thanks agian Ben), and we have 187 different cars and trucks. There are 80 prebuilt graphics and over 350 different color combos. Here is my site for the software that show a demo of the software in action as well as the help manual.

http://www.hokdigitalpaintbooth.com

then watch the online demo and it will show what it does.

We are always converting cars and adding them for our next update. If you have any questions please let me know.
