Filler panel (http://www.fototime.com/{6A8722F2-0E9A-4B69-929D-9D29283C72FD}/picture.JPG) I have been looking for a firewall filler panel like this one in this pictures. Could someone tell me who makes it?

Thanks
Mike

DSE makes one similar but it doesn't go quite that high; it stops at the factory seam.

Yeah Thats what I had planned on getting but I like how the other once covers more. I plan to fill the factory seem which this panel would do. I may just make a posterboard templant and plasma cut one out myself if I cant find who makes this one.

Unless it's something really new, I haven't seen one on the market in that configuration. Everyone I've seen do it in that fashion cut their own out of sheetmetal.

We cut our own. Trace out what u want to cover. Then put it on a flat piece of sheet metal and cut it out. It's a pretty simple project  and u can say u did it too

That's what I just did. Well I made a pattern. I need to find some steel sheet big enough to cut this thing out. Im not sure If I will leave the wiper hole or not as I would like to come up with something that can mount in the cowl to operate the wipers.

Do you have a cable setup or something for the wipers? I was thinking about going to the junk yard ad looking around until I found something that looked like it would fit inside the cowl. Any chance you have pictures of how you did your wipers?

Thanks

Looks great man.

I hope I can find some metal tomorrow so I can button this firewall on up tomorrow. I need to get in the trunk and start drilling spot welds to get ready for some mini tubs. LOL

We used the Specialty Power Windows unit on my dad's '56 and it works very well.

Well I cant find anyone with 16 gauge steel thats open today. HomeDepot has it but its like $25 for a 1x2ft section which im not going to pay.

I guess I will work on getting the inner tubs totaly removed so I will be ready for my mini tubs.

I remember reading somewhere that a guy used a VW wiper motor because it fit in the cowl area...perhaps a quick google would find it?

I used a VW wiper motor in my '69 Camaro based off of paul67's (over at pro-touring.com) original design. I have some pictures of my install over on my website if you are interested. http://www.camaroheaven.org/modules.php?name=Auto_Gallery&pa=showpage&cid=36

Here's on of the installed pictures:

You can ignore all the pictures of the Camaro wiper switch modifications, I ended up not going that route, but I left the pictures up just in case someone was interested in seeing what the inside of the switch looked like.
