Has anyone purchased the new DSE front subframe? If so, what do you think about it? I am in the market and thinking of purchasing the DSE frame. Also, any 2nd gen. Camaro guys out there purchased the Jim Meyer subframe? I talked to someone there and they said that they will be introducing a 1st gen. frame sometime in the near future.

I know a few guys on here have money down on the new DSE subframe, but I'm not sure where they are in production or delivery.

I would really like to get a hold of a Wayne Due frame like yours. I hope his situation changes soon. I am not interested in the C5 type frames. I do not want to modify my mint RS weel wells. Thanks Scott

I'll post up pics when we get ours. I checked with Lindsey and they are putting the first batch together now. Hopefully it won't be too much longer...

I talked to them last week about mine and they said they are still waiting on parts. They weren't sure when they would be ready. I am in the first batch and they are supposed to call me about powdercoating when they get close and they haven't done that yet.

Its a little pricey, but I will probably get mine done in satin black. I got the impression that it includes components and assembly, if you don't do it you get a pile of unfinished parts you can finish however you want. It would be nice to be able to uncrate it and install since I am waiting on it to get this thing back on the ground.

I'm on the fence about it I'm still mocking up think I might end up having to repaint It- are you using welded frame connectors or bolt in Ron

I was think about doing a bolt in instead of weld in for that reason-so you used the DSE connectors and modified them to bolt in great idea if you have more pictures I'd appreciate seeing them Ron

What is the cost DSE is asking to have it powder-coated?

Ordered my subframe 8/20/21, called twice and was told they are waiting on steering racks … I asked who the racks were made by and he said “ I don’t remember” wth is that ? You have been waiting on these for months and don’t remember who they are made by ? Feeling frustrated 10k is a lot of money for me to spend to have lackluster customer service. He also said things are messed up since holly took over.

Ask them to ship it without the rack. Pretty sure this rack will fit until you get the DSE part. Summit shows March for the DSE rack…

DSE uses a foxbody style rack - they have their own castings so maybe the guy you spoke with really didn't know? Don't let an answer to that kind of question give you doubts about the company or the product.

Any foxbody style rack will fit the subframe. Unisteer, AGR/Steerco, or even an A1 Cardone will fit it for the time being like Don said.

They may not be able to send it without the rack if it's a kit product. Sometimes things get confused in the books if orders get split up.
Good luck!!

Supply chain issues are causing lots of companies headaches, DSE isn't alone. Lots of companies are waiting on parts to deliver assemblies like your subframe. Speedtech sent my subframe later than originally expected because they were waiting on parts. I'm still waiting on spindles for the subframe because the company that forges them can't get materials. They have been very good about keeping me posted on progress though, spindles should be here in a week or 2.
Frustrating for them and their customers, but it's the new norm unfortunately. Pretty much everything I order now days has a wait time between 8 and 16 week, and often it's supply chain issues.

Yep, super long waits the last year and a half or so. Good thing.... the auto aftermarket is busy, most every vendor I've spoken with has a lot of orders to fill. Bad thing, most of these same vendors have issues getting parts and materials in so they can send their product out the door.

Has anyone gotten a status update from DSE? I ordered my frame in late August and haven't heard anything.

I also ordered a subframe recently for my nova - last quote I heard was early Jan.

On a side note - I was able to attend SEMA this year and chatted with Kyle Tucker. Supply chain issues came up and he said the R&P was one of the issues. He said they should have all of those in by Thanksgiving. That was a few weeks ago at SEMA and may have changed since then. Kyle was a super cool guy to chat with. Very "normal" guy. You wouldn't know he runs DSE.

Thought I would give an update on my previous post. Talked to DSE today for an update on my subframe. It’s not expected until first week of Feb at the earliest. Quadralink is also back ordered (they’re waiting on the links). I ordered both back in early Nov. Just an FYI for others.

Update to my earlier posts. Called DSE today and new delivery date is estimated to be mid March. Any new orders are quoted 16-18 weeks min. Wanted to give out the info in case your considering DSE. If I had known it would take 4 months min, I would have looked at other options.

Update:

Subframe arrived yesterday -a little earlier than the mid March quote. It ended up being a little over 3 months total. Still no Quadralink - DSE is waiting on the links. Supposedly a few more weeks. Forgeline is also running behind. Hopefully wheels show up next week. All of this was ordered before Thanksgiving FYI.

The last couple of years have been tough for car projects.

Agreed and it's almost all of the aftermarket vendors. This was not meant to criticize any specific vendor but just passing along info so guys can plan ahead. For me, I had originally planned for a new motor/trans. With the vendor issues, I may now opt for a low mileage motor/trans drop out to save time.
