You are correct on both counts. That's his real Shelby "track toy". He's having a blast playing on the track.

The motor is a very long ways from stock. I don't have the details but very strong.

Yes. Woodland was on fire so he decided to go play at Infineon. :D

Yes that was at the Mini Nats. It is a real 66 GT350. It has some great history including New Your State B production for about 4 years running in the 1970's. 310 ci making about 515 hp. My first time at Sears Point and what a great track.

Cool. I was out playing at the SCCA Vintage races at Laguna last weekend, wrenching on a real 68 Shelby and also the "cheater car" 65 Fastback Mustang... which would have won the big bore class if the owner/driver hadn't jumped the start and got a stop-and-go for it.
I really need to get back on the track... soon. It's like crack! :P

Agreed, SP is a lot of fun, but there are some awfully close walls in a few spots.

Yes, Infieon is a very technical track, if you don't pay full focus it will bite you in the ass. Seen a bunch of guys on bikes get air lifted out of the carousel. Charlie, what kind of lap times were you turning? Did they have a beacon?

I have no idea on lap times. I'm still a beginner...

For all of those not fortunate enough to hear a Shelby on the power, reving to 8k RPM, you are really missing something. I haven't driven one, but have seen them several times, and the exhaust note is just amazing, there is nothing else that sounds like them. Just pure sex, that's all there is to it.
Great car Charlie, nice to see you enjoying her as she was built for. Outstanding pictures, really nicely done. Frame 'em!!!

Radical. Atta-boy Charlie.
Note: Winners are determined by width of smile.
....and yes, Infineon/Sears is a beast of a track. Very technical and the penalty points for a mucked up corner are high. Lots of walls, embankments and other nifty doo-dads. I raced there on a motorcycle once, I got on the podium, but I was terrified all day, and never raced there again.
