Theres so much polished alluminum in the engine compartment and budnik wheels etc.. I have some real good allum. polishes but as you know you need to rub this stuff until the rag turns black and buff clean. My question is what do you guys use to just wipe off the road dust or dust from sitting a while. Is there a polish or cleaner that you can just spray on wipe off ? What do you guys use or do?

Thanks Rich- hope this is the right section for this ?

I normally use a micro-fiber towel and some quick detailer. If it really bad I will use a Cal. duster then the quick detailer. Not sure if thats the correct way of doing things, but I have not had any issues.

Dont use quick detailer or any other similar product because it will leave a residue. I have polished aluminum for years myself and the best way to clean it between polishing is a foam window cleaner. Make sure that the aluminum is cool and do it in a shade and wipe it clean with a lint free microfiber rag.

Thanks for the replies, Hotrods- can you recommend a brand of foam window cleaner you like? Thanks again- Rich

Believe it or not your local Chevy dealer has the best that I have found in there parts dept. I have also used the ones at auto parts houses. Make sure that its the foam and the metal is cool. It will stain if the metal is hot.
