Tremec Problem

I have a 69 Camaro with a 406 and Tremec 5 speed with a UPR shifter. I went to bang 3rd gear and missed. When I did I noticed my shifter hung up about halfway in. I had to muscle it to get it back to neutral. It felt as if the shifter was going into a gate between 3rd and 5th gear. Now it wont go into 3rd unless I ease it in. I spoke to a tech person at Tremec and he thinks the internal rail mechanism has some strained parts. He is sending me some parts for free to fix the problem. Has anyone ever had this happen? Any input would be great. Thanks

I have a TKO600 and 3rd gear is difficult to hit sometimes. If I take it too far towards 5th then it gets hung up.

So what do you have to do when it hangs up? My TKO is the old style from about 4 yrs ago. I used to race my 88 Mustang with the 3550 Tremec and never had any problems with it. I was in the Mustang Fun Ford Weekend scene for years and as far back as I can remember I have never heard of anyone experiencing this problem.

Hi, I´m new over here, so I wanna say few words about me.... I´m Harri/(Harry) from finland, I´m 22 now and I have own a -76 corvette now for 5 years. I got the vette from Chigago while I was living there for a year... now I have almost restored and updaded it... it has now 383 with alu. dart, 11.0:1, mighty demon and so on... I´m runing it with tko-600, and I´m having same problems as you guys... the 3rd is quit hard to hit right. I havent had any major misses, but I really have to be carefull with it after riding this!!!

I do have a question... about the tko-600! I do have new electric gauges, but I can´t find a right type of (ending) for my electric speedometer??? Have they maybe used same kind of endings in camaros, vipers and new vettes with t56 or other tremecs?

I concur that 3rd is pretty hard to stab at high rpm. I have a TKO500 and B&M Ripper shifter, but I've never had it hang up on me. Just refuse synching.

I´m not saing that I wouldn´t have been saticfied with the tremec... but like Y-TRY wrote, it is hard to get 3rd on on high rpms. But it aint´a problem if you´ll take the change from 2nd to 3rd easy!!!

I had the same problem finding one. The place I bought mine from didn't sell these plugs, and other TKO vendors wouldn't sell one peice only.

The one I use is made by Calterm p/n 08692 "GM Multi-use sensor plug"

I have seen other manufactures making these on the rockauto.com site by searching for a '95 GM coolant temp sensor plug:thumbsup:

Ok I found these at https://www.rockauto.com/applet3.html for a '98 Blazer coolant temp sensor pigtail.

There is a Standard Motor Products p/n TX3A or AC Delco p/n PT1623 or PT1350. Put these p/n's in the search bar and you should be good to go.

Sorry... I forgot to say HUGE thanks for you... the plug is already on it´s way to FINLAND... well winter is here now, but it will be ready for the coming summer! I cant wait, cause I have been bulding my beast now for 3 years and at the end of the past summer I had a change to drive it for two weeks before the first snowflakes came down. Driving that beast is better than anything so far in my shot life(22 years), even it ain´t ready completly yet... interior and suspension will see some modifications during the winter.
