I have a build thread up in the Project Updates sub-forum; here:
https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59423

The short of this post is that I'm roughly a year out from pulling the trigger on the powerplant for my car. For the longest time I've had my heart set on an Ls3 or Ls7 crate motor with a T56. I've since considered an LT4 as well if the numbers work out.

Call me lazy, but wondering if the forum could provide some LS crate motor specialists I could create a short list of.

I'm tracking Blueprint Engines and Mast already; but curious if any of you could provide some alternatives, I'm just not aware of.

I can't justify anything more than 30k all in for the powertrain. Blueprint has the builder series which has an Ls7 and T56 in a kit that gets shipped to your front door for under 28k as of April 2025. I can get behind that idea.

There is one local engine builder in my neck of the woods (Jancen Motorsports out of West Seneca NY) I've contacted. I'm just not sure it's the best route. Or maybe it is? They seem legit but I've never had an engine built before and this is unchartered territory for me.

I've got time to figure it all out but want to lock it all in before the money starts burning a hole in my pocket.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew.

Mine is from Texas Speed and Performance. (https://www.texas-speed.com/)

I would also check with Dale at Pro Touring Store (https://protouringstore.com/). Friends have bought a couple LS engines from him at very good pricing.

I have no personal or first hand experience with Blueprint engines. I am on a pretty busy engine swapped Porsche faceholebook group (90% of the group are doing LS swaps into 911's).

The opinion there is weighed heavily against Blueprint engines. The main builder who does these swaps professionally has had at least two blueprint LS engines with major problems and another guy finally sold the 3rd replacement engine he wrangled out of them and bought a GM crate motor.

Internet hearsay and if you don't road race the car on the track it will probably be fine, just do some research.

That being said I also am in the market for an LS engine and so am interested in recommendations as well. TBH given how ubiquitous these seem to be, I was a little surprised I couldn't find more vendors that I liked and that weren't trying to sell $30k engines.

Most of the guys in that swap group just end up buying the GM 495hp crate motor and its a good option, but I wanted something a little bit more and different (just like everyone else) so still looking.
