I know it's not protouring related, but it's still a car lol. I'm inheriting a 68 Bug, fully restored like new. Will give me something fun to drive while the Chevelle is being painted. Been researching and it's a completely different world than what I've been in. Anyone else a fan?
Pics below are identical to this one, but haven't got it to the house yet to take actual pics. But it's as nice as this one is.

Those are a blast to drive, you're a lucky guy. Not much protection of course like any of the older cars but that front folds up pretty easy on impact. I remember having to stop really hard in a 62 Impala on a 2 lane highway and a bug hit me from behind. Didn't even scratch the bumper on the Impala but the Bug was almost completely flattened to the windshield.

I've had 2 over the years. Going way, way back I had a 59 with the oval rear window. It was so slow you didn't want to drive it on the interstate. With a top speed of about 45 going up even the slightest grade was a struggle. The rear view mirror was usually filled with grill of a Peterbuilt.
I had a 68 also and did the 1835 cc upgrade. It was surprisingly quick, and would gap many V-8s off the line.
I remember I could have to engine out in 15 minutes.
Everything is available parts-wise too. Real popular cars.

Several bugs, a 57, a 64, a 66.... but I was really into Split buses, had 5-6 of those...
The last one I did was a 59 panel with a GM Ecotec and Porsche brakes...

Do we get to come up with names for this one like the Chevelle?

Busses are very cool. Surprised how strong the bugs and busses still are, people love them.

Cool name! We were snowed in for a couple weeks. Now I need to go over and move a few cars to get it out of his barn.

Made many Mustang GT owners very mad in the late 80's!!!

Mine had real high compression, like AVgas and 93 Amoco mix, ragged edge,
