We lost a car guy today...Bill Pearl

I was fortunate to know Bill, I married one of his daughters. :thumbsup: For those who don't know Bill Pearl was a four-time Mr. Universe. It started at a young age as he had an older brother who beat on him a lot. Finally decided he needed to get bigger and stronger to protect himself. :lolhit: His titles were won while waiting 5 years or so between competing so he could face new competitors, rather than win a bunch in a row. He was very well known in the body building world. He was almost 92 years old when he passed.

He was also a big time car guy. His one passion other than body building was cars. He collected many over the years, many of them from his era (pre 1940). Many were restored by Bill, and others he bought just because he thought they were cool. He will be greatly missed by his family.

So sorry for the loss of your father in law Jody!

I remember you telling me years ago that you were married to Bill Pearl's daughter... he was one of the original GOATs of body building and a pioneer of getting fit for lifelong longevity... he walked the walk.

What a cool guy! My Dad read muscle and fitness for many years, pretty sure Bill was in more than a few of those. I also recall seeing books written by him around the house.

Sounds like he lived a great life.

He did and he out-lived most body builders. He still sells a lot of books today.
