I need to take my 16' enclosed trailer down to Austin early July. I would like to stop overnight in Lubbock since it is about 9 hours drive from home.
I'd like to make sure when I walk out of the hotel the next morning I still have a trailer, and no damage to it.
I have a tongue lock but I don't intend to un-hook the trailer unless I have to.
Any suggestions for secure overnight parking? Maybe a gated hotel?
Thanks!

I don’t know.
I wait for your responses
It’s an excellent question
That being said:
We have trailered the 68’ overnight many times.
1. A hotel with security guards, and always introduce yourself to them
2. Really good padlocks everywhere. I like the Masterlock series with boron alloy hasp.
3. Get a room with window view of your trailer. Park under lighting.
4. Tow vehicle.., maybe a “wheel-lock” like a LoJack. We never did that.
5. I always put a yellow stickie on my tow vehicle window with name and cell number. Not for the thieves, but for witnesses to wake me.
Sorry I cannot provide any more.
I realize a gps tracker is a wise investment just in case

I can’t help with Lubbock, but this makes me think we need a “call me when you’re in XYZ city and you can park at my place” thread.

Thanks guys,
We're headed out on a different trip to Mrylte Beach tomorrow without the trailer. We are going to observe where people park along the way. Thought about where big rigs park as well.
Thanks!

You could always wedge it into the corner of the parking lot. Unhook the truck and block off the tongue with your truck so they can't swing the tongue out and hook up. While they could yank your truck out of the way and cut off your tongue lock, it would be a real pain in the keester and make a bunch of noise in the process.

Thanks for the suggestions, we are headed out next week on the first. Going to have to play it by ear when we get to Lubbock, who knows maybe we will just drive a little farther the first day.
We drove nearly 4000 miles a couple of weeks ago, although we didn't have the trailer. I'm not looking forward to the 2000 mile round trip to Bastrop. The effort will make it worth it when I get to see my youngest daughter Kasey again. Maybe I can talk her into moving home to work on old cars again with her Dad.
Thanks

My parents live just south of Lubbock in a town called Slaton. I have a TON of family there, so if it helps I could ask them to see their thoughts.

Sorry about the late response, I had replied using my phone and apparently it didn't work.
Yes I would appreciate any information you have

Thanks everyone, it all worked out.
I was able to park the War Wagon outside my window with permission of the hotel.

Thanks, yes it’s a dining table my youngest daughter made for her sister.
It’s a pecan slab, about 4’ x 9’
