It's a rare opportunity when I can get a chance to work on my Camaro that I got for High School graduation (a mere 5 years ago). Back then I had no money but plenty of ambition...I ripped it down to the shortblock before I could even afford a new top-end. Then I soon went off to college 1.5 hours away: the worst thing that could have happend to my car. It sat for nearly 5 years; of course I never forgot about the car...every chance I got to come home I'd pull the tarps off of it to tinker with this or that. Through school I was always saving up for the parts to build the car of my dreams (dreams courtesy of sites like Lateral-g, of course--and I'm not trying to flatter you because I also blame this site for how broke I am).

Anyways I will cut to the chase...

I'm out of school now and pull down a good enough paycheck to "waste" some of it on the car of my dreams. And I finally drove it this weekend! Sure I had no brake lights and the drum brakes were so rusty I nearly got lockjaw just from breathing...but it was still the best feeling in the world. I got a video clip if someone wants to host it (open headers :unibrow: ). Then I parked it and renewed my vows to the car :)

Thanks for listening, I know I made it feel like an AA meeting in here; it just feels so good to get it all off my chest!

you've waited and finished school...time to enjoy! IMHO just keep her in running condition and don't get too crazy, trust me you'll have way more fun.

I know I've learned my lesson from past mistakes, and soon I'll be able to "scratch that" too!

Words to live by. Take you time, make a plan and stay with "the plan"
