Well, The engine is in place, and the intake is mounted. I had to take out 7/8 inch for the manifold to clear the steel cowl hood. Once the intake was welded up I had it powder coated silver. I still have to wire it up, install fans, and bolt up the battery. I'm hoping to start it up in a week or so. Here are some pics...

Where are you going to route the air intake? I want to make a 'cold-air' intake for mine someday, do you know where to get the material to make the tubing and connectors?

Tom, Still trying to figure out what to do with the intake. It'll be cold air...that I know. I'm mounting the battery in the trunk so I plan on putting the air intake in the battery area. I was looking at it tonight and thing I may cut an opening in the forward area (battery "floor") of the fender well for intake, but actually mounting an air filter box on the inside. I'd appreciate any suggestions, though. Where did you mount the cold air temp sensor?

No, I don't have a good contact for the intake plumbing...you? How's your Camaro running? Put many miles on it?

I'm running the motor with the std. air cleaner, nothing changed so the sensor is in the factory spot. I really haven't driven it for a while - concentrating on getting the stereo wired up and now building the console. I hope to finish it up this weekend so that the interior shop can start next week. I'd like to take it out at least once this weekend to hear the stereo while driving... Where did the intake tubing come from that you have on it now?

Tom, The intake piece came from Jegs...here the PN:

467-410036 Cast 90-degree Intake Elbow

I'm also thinking of getting another one for the other end, and just running a tube between the two. It would be an easy way to get the job done and would be very functional, though It would be great to go a little more custom. Does anyone have a good link for intake tubing?

All sheetmetal is after market...except doors.

X, Yep, no problem with clearance for the T-stat housing. Matter-of-fact I had originally planned on a billet t-stat housing but now that it's not so much out in the open I think I'll just stick with the factory piece.
