I've seen a few threads on PCV systems and was looking for some input into my system. I have a LSA and i'm questioning how I have it set up.

Current set up cheap catch can (vented to atmosphere) with mesh inside.
-Both valve cover banks are connected to it. (it has 2 ports)
-The valley cover pulls fresh air from the intake filter
- The snout port is blocked off
I've driven this set up for 300 or so miles and have no issues other than a gas blow by smell after stepping on it. I drained it yesterday and it is collecting oil.

I've seen 2 ways to route a catch can based on the CTS-V and ZL1 forums

Option 1
-Closed catch can (elite engineering style)
-Plumbed in the loop from the valley cover to the supercharger snout
-Stock valve cover lines run to the intake tube after MAF

Option 2
Mighty Mouse catch can (vented)
-Oil fill cap adapter to catch can inlet
-Catch can outlet run supercharger snout
-Valley cover to intake (after MAF)

I have a provent 100 I purchased thinking I was going to use that but went with a mesh / vented one.

Can/Should i switch to the provent? I don't want to use the drain back function since i'd need to find a way to do that.I really just want limited blow by gas smell and way to collect oil vapor and keep crankcase ventilation down.

Thanks Nick

I’m using the Mighty Mouse mood setup. Passenger valve cover and drivers side valve cover are T together And then a line routed between the throttle body and maf. The valley tray goes to the catch can and then catch can to the supercharger Works perfectly.

Thanks randy. The mighty mouse has a built in pressure relief. Do you notice any fuel smell under hard throttle?

This is a timely topic. My 540i sucks oil from the PCV system it seems. It's ridiculous in my opinion. I really want to stop this was occurring. It's so bad, that oil is dripping out of my filter down onto the ground in front of the front tire. My Vortech pulls air from below and behind the passenger headlight. I hate it. Everything inside the intake tract is coated in oil. Is this the same thing you guys are fighting? My crank case vent comes in after the MAF and right before the blower.

I don't mind and fully expect some oil to coat the intake tract, but dripping out of my air filter is crap. Almost makes me want to LS swap the BMW:D

Im getting blow by fuel vapor which i think is due to mine having a open filter on the oil vapor side.

I used a dual catch can with two check valves on my LSA. Seems to work well under all boost conditions. Lot of plumbing though.

Don you running them in line to each other?

These LSA have tons of Plumbing.

None. I spent weeks thinking about this setup and finally went this route. I couldn’t be anymore happy.

Randy, I didn't find the mood setup on Might Mouse's site. Did you mean mild?

No they are independent but in the same housing. It’s from RX Performance. I installed it a few years ago and I can’t remember all the details but it was for a supercharged application on a CTS-V or ZL1.

Thanks Don, i found a video on it. It looks really nice. The valley / snout routing was the same as as most. On the install they used 2 ports in the intake tube. they used the OEM and added one for the can. Did you do the same?

Thanks Randy, I have an email into MM on a quote. Did you buy the PCV can?

Pretty sure I only have one port on the intake tube. I hooked it up a few years ago.

This is the one that I got. Once you see it it will then make sense on why it cost so much.
