I have a 416 LS3 in my Camaro. Dart block and heads, Holley throttle body injection - 600hp. Currently the engine vents into a firewall mounted catch can (see catch can beside a/c firewall lines), with vent hoses plumbed off the back of the thick spacers which sit between the engine block and valve covers on both banks, and thus both sides of the engine feed into the vented catch can - venting to the atmosphere.

I'd like to go to a Mann Hummel closed vent system, draining back into the sump and am seeking plumbing advice.

Is the plumbing as simple as taking the existing hoses from each bank and plumbing them into the Mann Hummel Pro Vent 200 can; plus routing the Mann Hummel drain vent into the LS3 sump?

The MH part, like the Provent 200, is meant to be used in-line with a PCV valve. Basically...

Drivers valve cover -- PCV--MH-- throttle body vacuum source.

Vacuum is needed for the drainback valve to actuate.

That's great advice - thank you very much. I think I could plumb a PCV into my current drivers side hose take off, which goes from the spacer that sits between the engine block and the 'valve cover'; then feeds to the current catch can.

Do you think this PCV valve in line in the current drivers side hose would be ok?

Then out of the MH 200 and into a spare vacuum port on the 4150 Holley throttle body, plus a drain to the sump.

The pickup point being low like that will likely pull in excessive oil. The PCV system will be much more effective if the pickup point is higher up on the cover.

I'm not familiar with that PCV. I use a stock 4th gen with good results but the camshaft is relatively mild. M/E Wagner has an adjustable valve that may work well.

Just looking at the Godfathers last post and didn't see mention of a PCV in the system?

I'm still working on location of the PCV. A traditional PCV in the valve cover is problematic because the (fake) valve covers are closed and non functioning - they sit on top of this spacer on the cylinder heads that mounts the coils, and do not offer direct access to engine breathing.
