View Full Version : Paying it forward for Jody - 70 Chevelle Project

I have had the pleasure of being friends with Jody for quite a few years now. He has always been the first one to help others but NEVER asks for help. For those that know him, you can attest to this. Look at what he has helped create here with Lateral G and what it has evolved to today. The friendships that have evolved are nothing short of amazing. I for one, am very grateful!
I would like to help and give Jody's Chevelle a running start by creating a donation campaign. This will be our way of giving back to him. Even the smallest donation will not go unnoticed and be much appreciated!
I choose not to use Go Fund Me because of their fees.
I have created 2 ways to donate for Jody's Project.
Venmo is @Jodys_Chevelle
PayPal as a friend to
[email protected]
Once again... Jody has done so much for all of us creating our own little niche over here with Lateral G. Every little bit will help pay it forward.
Thanks again

Jody is as good a man, friend and stand up dude as has ever walked this earth. I consider him to be a brother to me, along with so many I’ve met here on Lateral-G. I’ve made lifelong friends here, and without Jody and his willingness to keep this place the best on the net, I’d Purdy much not be on the internet.
Thanks Jody, for all you do brother.

There are a ton of members here so I would think even 5.00 would add up.

Donate a buck for every time the forum was helpful to you...or a buck for each time you logged on just to get some motivation for your own project...heck, just double up your yearly dues and mark half for "project boost"....

I'm in and already donated to the cause.
Jody is one of the absolute nicest guys out there. Some of you know me, some of you don't - but I've worked for Jody for about 5 years now. If you read any of the articles on the homepage or top of this page, those are me.
Jody has easily been the best person I've ever worked for. I'm happy to help him get his project off the ground!

Jody is the man! And yes he does way more than most people realize in the community.... let's give him the some boost!
Lateral-G would not be the bad ass place it is without him.

First off I want to thank everyone, I appreciate it more than I can put into words. Initially I was going to remove this thread but friends convinced me to let it remain. It was a hard decision as I love helping people, but I suck at accepting help.
Scott Gulbranson gets the credit for this site, without him it would not exist. I simply took it over and tried to keep it going in a positive direction for our community. I've made many incredible friends because of it and I will always be grateful for that. Yes, it's been 8-9 years since I've been able to build a car for myself, but that's life and we've all been there. I have a great family and friends, and I still get to help friends and neighbors with their car projects, so I'm fine. I've been avoiding this thread as it's a bit embarrassing to me, but I wanted to at least thank you and let you know how much I appreciate it.

Jody,
When something feels so wrong to you...it must be right!
And as I learned from watching that ‘Miss Congeniality’ movie, wanting to help others is 2nd only to achieving world peace.

Now that Christmas and New Years are over, and we are back to our normal grind - I wanted to get this thread rolling again.
For those that have made donations thus far - THANK YOU!! Very much appreciated.
Remember anything and everything will help!

Shamed to say I haven't been on Lat-G in a hot min and missed this. It's another of a long list of reasons I love this site. So many good people here sharing in more than just cars. I've gained a lot of amazing friends thanks to Lat-G, learned a lot and had a ton of fun. Like many of us, Jody has made sacrifices that sadly have included his hot rods. Life sucks, but he did it. One thing he refused to do was allow adds to infect our threads. Something that would have provided a nice return from the site and easily could have paid for his build. I for one appreciate that he didn't go that route!!
Tossing $100 into the pot really is hitting the EASY BUTTON. I hope the rest of you will kick in. Don't be CHEAP! Boycott your Starbucks and Monster Energy drink habit for a week and you'll be ahead of the game.

:captain:You know, you're right. Turning on Google ads would fund the car, but I hate them and always said I'd never put them on the site. I know most places have them nowadays, but not here. :badidea:

Nothing an ad blocker can’t fix. The other site is infested with ads but I never see them. Adblock Plus.

I want to thank all of you for your support, especially those that donated. This community has had a very positive influence on my life. Should be starting the tear down of the car in a few weeks, then I'll know exactly what I've got myself into... :peepwall:
