Hey guys starting to research what wiring kit I should use on my crate motor LS3 480HP. can anyone make some suggestions for me? I was looking at the GM connect and cruise since it comes with pedal and everything but also heard the Holley terminator stuff is really good. please let me know what you guys suggest.
Thanks

First time I’ve ever wired a car and I instead the connect and cruise with ease.

I recommend the GMPP connect and cruise. Simple plug and play.

I’ve used GMPP, Speartech, and PSI. They all have their merits but I feel GMPP might be best for you Paul.

There is a guy on the Camaro forum using Holley for his first swap. He has posted a lot of questions.

Also call Shaun Carter @SMC Performance,he does a kit like GM but it is easier and even cleaner look.I have bought several of these and are so easy to install. They are plug and play with built in relays for fans and fuel pump, throttle pedal, bosses for 02 sensors, mass air flow sensor and mounting kit.

I used the GMPP harness. I haven't had any issues with it in 8 years but the only down fall is you only have one fan output unless you add the PCMOFNC fan add on kit. Kind of bulky but I don't mind.

I made my own harness from the donor LS3 car but I am now switching to Holley. I got tired of having to send off the ECM every time I wanted to change anything and I'm not technical enough to do my own programming. I am in the process of installing a Holley Terminator X for a friend of mine also and I like the Holley stuff. So far it seems to be well built and setting up the software was pretty easy. Most of questions have already been addressed on the Holley EFI forum. I've always been a fan of using GM parts but the programming is what convinced me to change. I'm still keeping the old harness and ECM though. Just in case lol.

Speartech would be my first choice for easy button wiring. The GM fuse panel is huge, the fan control strategy is beyond dumb, and I can't believe they actually still use corrugated wire loom.

TerminatorX if you know what you are doing or would like to be more involved with the install.

I used Speartech for the wifes FJ40 LS swap, needed a couple specific add-ons and they were very easy to deal with. Also no problem after the sale when I called with a couple noob questions during install.

I used Hotwire Auto on my Gen3 hemi project and Chris's stuff is really nice also. Hemi swaps are a little more in depth than LS and he walked me through every bit of it. He also does LS.

I'm happy with the GM crate engine harness I used on my LS9-clone custom build. The only changes I made were adding pins to the ECU connectors to bring out the reverse lockout (RLO) output and inputs for a supercharger inlet MAP sensor.

I have used PSI for all my projects thus far and have had no issues
Like Jeff though, I am going to try out Speartech on the next build as recommended by my engine guy and tuner

Cheers
