Guys, is cerakoting just as durable as powdercoating? I've heard mixed reviews. Specifically, I'm concerned with cerakoting wheels.

Hard to say for sure. Cerakote is very durable and once fully cured (48hrs if I recall correctly) it is very scratch resistant. Its also a lot thinner than powder coat. Two light coats is about all we put down over sandblasted bare metal. Overall we've been happy with everything we've Cerakoted, which mostly trim parts, suspension components, etc.
On a set of wheels, I think Cerakote would be just as durable!

As a gun guy, we have had cerakote for a very long time on all types of gun parts, slide most notably. It seems car guys are just discovering it starting about 5 years ago.
It will be fantastic for wheels.
Keep in mind, it will scratch if you really try. If used on surfaces that see lots of rubbing, it will wear off, but over many cycles. It doesn't really fade in the sun. I'm partial to keeping it looking new with a nice thin coat of gun oil then wiping that off, haha! I've seen in the automotive space tho some places doing a glossy finish on it.

Hellfire has the trim and I think the wheels coated in it.

Yes Hellfire has wheels, window trim, outside door handles, window cranks, inside door handles and locks all coated. The thin coating worked great on all the parts.
After a lot of abuse the coating seem fine except for the exterior door handle coating seems to be wearing off.
Nice stuff.

Thanks guys!! I appreciate the advice. I'd assume the only rubbing that the wheels would see would be from normal washing and wiping to keep clean. I wonder how long that would last?
Has anyone cerakote their exhaust?

That coating is awesome on Hellfire's wheels. The coating hides the dirt. I pretty much just rinse them off and call it good. I also use a Lucas tire dressing in a spray bottle that when sprayed on the rims makes them look fresh.
