Best quarters?

It seems inevitable that if I am going to actually get a decent "project" car for less than $35K then I am going to have to put a set of quarters on a car. What are the best full quarters out there?

I Think There All About The Same . I Used The Oer Brand. They Had Gm Logos On The Boxes . They Fit Decent. But I Have Been Told They Are All Made By The Same Place Weather They Are Goodmark, Oer, Ect. One Company Makes Them All.

I used a set of the skins on my '69 when I was 18 and even though that was 12 years ago I have noticed that not much seems to have changed as the level of detail around the louvers was different from one side to the next. Pretty annoying considering that for my next car I do not want to use the chrome louvre trim...I emailed Goodamark and their response was:

The GM dies have been destroyed for Camaro quarter panels, so we have
retooled them from original samples. There are other older toolings on
the market that are not very good quality. Our newer tooling is a
better fit, but nothing is ever as good as an OE part.

I have not seen a set of these "newer" ones up close; can anybody chime in here with some first hand experience???

I emailed them and Bob got right back to me and said that a full set of NOS quarters was $3800. He did say that since they do a lot of restoration work themselves that he has used, with good results, some of the newer repro full quarters and has found them to be pretty good. I guess that I will just have to go see for myself...Goodmark is less than 5 minutes from my house here in Georgia and Year One is 25 minutes up the road! :D

If you really want the car to look nice use the NOS quarters. They can be
found on Ebay on a pretty regular basis. They usually sell for less than
half of that quote. For retail Heartbeat City probably has more first gen
NOS in stock than anyone but their very proud of the stuff. Make sure
you really need them and can't patch before going full Qs.

We usually end up doing about 5 cars a year and here's our method. We strip the quarter down to bare meter and only remove the rusted section. So many people buy full quarters and then cut the whole quarter out regardless if not needed. We always try to save as much of the original sheetmetal that we can. It just makes everything better. We use all Goodmark sheetmetal and it has worked good for us.
