Ive been looking for a clean 2nd get Camaro for a long time and finally found one to start building into my dream car. Its a 1970 1 owner out of GA with 93,000 miles on it. The car had a repaint 15 years ago after the pass quarter was damaged. Other than that the car is bone stock and untouched. Almost made me leery of a complete tear down. I don't plan on anything that hasn't been done 100 times already.
The day I pulled it in the shop. Then 2 days later, then by the end of the week. I have a few more pics ill start adding then continue thru the build process.

awesome to see another 2nd gen getting some love. I need to get out and finish the suspension under mine but I've so focused on my old Buick that the Camaro has been ignored. Time is not my friend!!

I used to drive by Taylor to Liberty Hill every other weekend to pick up my daughter for the weekend. I thought I remembered your C10 from the 67-72 chevy truck forum, cool truck.

I was in Atlanta last week taking a car to Underground Racing and stopped by Fuller Moto's shop. A good friend of mine does interior out of there and he had built me a new seat and a few other bits for my 71 C10. Now I have a bit of a thing for hardware, I have a toolbox dedicated to all kind of little odds and ends I may need when working on a project. But while checking out his place I came across the mother of all bolt bins.

Alright now, you can't just throw UR out there and not mention what car and what's being done to it.
There was a V10 R8 with UR turbos on it at Caffeine and Octane this last weekend.
Glad to hear you're making progress on the car.

That rendering is sweet!! Share the plug on the steering wheel. I want something different from what's already offered myself. Been talking to Shawn at EVOD. Ironically, I've been contemplating getting the exact same G-Code wheels too by HRE. The only thing I'm on the fence about is they only come offered in a rolled lip and I'm more of a flat lip, or reverse lip as it's more standardly called, kind of guy.

Waiting on the wheels to show up. I ended up going 19's in the rear and 18's up front to get the tire sizes I wanted. The car is at the metal shop getting the pass side quarter replaced and a few spots of rust cleaned up. After that it goes to get the roll bar welded in then back to the house to start building out. I have a May 2020 deadline to get it to the paint shop. When I get it back Ill post more pics.

Thinking about some Track Spec hood vents. The hood was damaged in shipping from CA and the vents would cut out the damage. That’s not a deciding factor but would kinda be nice. Just not sure if the car I’m building will carry the look. Wanted to open up the dilemma to you guys and get some opinions. 71709
They look fairly squared off in pic but they have a taper of about 3” and probably need about 2 tape widths between them.

Got some parts in for the electrical side of things. Car will have a full mil-spec harness. I’m running a Haltech 2500 ECU and their wideband controller. Going to run a PDM on this car to help reduce the wiring and I’ll be able to use a can bus keypad for most of the controls. I’ve also decided on a MoTeC C1212 for the display. I really wanted to do something different for the fuel tank. With the help of Tim@Gap Racing we came up with a tank design that dropped in from the top and replaced the trunk floor. It will hold the same if not more than any other factory style tank but allows us to keep it on the same plane as the roll pan without hanging down. I couldn’t be happier with the way it came out. It'll be powder coated and hardlined off the Radium FCST which houses dual Walbro 450's.

They look great and that’s the route I was going. But the set I saw was rubbing real bad on the control arm and I know it wasn’t when car was built. I’ll probably have more in the metal ones but they won’t shrink.

I got the Haltech ECU and ECU Masters PDM mounted today. I really wanted to put them behind the rear seat cushion for easy access but my wiring guy didn’t want to twist wires over a 4’ section. Also got the Recaros mounted to see how I fit in the car. Used the Planted Tech seat bases with the Recaro sliders. They worked great.

Do you have any photos of how the pedal box was mounted inside the car? I'm running the same pedal box and am curious to see how much structure they have built to handle the forces put on a manual brake pedal.

The Camaro has been in paint jail for a bit now. Progress is being made but it just takes a while no matter what you do. So I had to pick up something to keep me entertained. My last 3 “side cars” have been single cab trucks. So I needed a change. Picked up this crazy clean 62 BelAir. It’s 100% complete and detailed out car which is not my norm. But I figured I’d try something different and start enjoying it immediately. Don’t have intentions on doing much to it. 78966

Well guys here’s the post that I’ve been waiting for since the day I wrote my introduction to the car. I’m at Columbus Ohio to debut the car at Goodguy’s.
There’s still some shakedown things to finish up but the car is 98% finished and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’m up here with GAP Industries who did all the final assembly work. Tim made a few design changes throughout and they just knocked it out of the park.
Vastine’s Paint Garage laid down the slickest black paint job you’ll ever see. It looks fake at some angles with how straight the car is and the color just reflects like a mirror.
Catos Custom Upholstery ran with an idea of what we wanted for the interior and came up with the perfect blend of modern but not over the top. Everything but the sail panels and a pillars were custom made.
Thanks to all of yall for helping me stay motivated. Over 6.5 years you start to question the plan.

Thanks. I contacted them and they gave me a reasonable quote. I may do something around Christmas.
The other thing I may try is getting a beat up original grill, cut the egg crate out of it, and get some ABS mesh from Ebay, and then graft it on. I'm using some of that mesh on my parking light housings after I relocated the turn signals up to the headlight housings. That way, it'll match.

I'm not seeing a 2nd Camaro option... but looking at some of the others, looks a little out of my price range unfortunately.
