In the market to replace my stock control arms with some aftermarket performance control arms (upper and lower) for my 71 Firebird. The car has a Hotchkis TVS setup now. I will be using it for Pro Touring/casual driving. Anyone out there with experience on this with recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Why don't you try and reach out to this guy who has a 71 build going on, he'll probably be able to help out with some info or at the very least make some suggestions.

Do you have a set that is intended for Pro Touring? How do they compare to the other leading brands such as DSE, Hotchkis and so on?

They have Geometry Improvements like the other Brands. We aim our Pricing towards the Enthusiast with a Budget ( doesn't everyone). Made in the USA :flag2: about 40 yards from where I'm sitting

I've have had the full BMR suspension on my car for nearly 10 years and absolutely LOVE IT!! Great ride for cruising and corner carving!

Tubular uppers and lowers with their sway bar up front with their Torque arm with Watts-link in the rear!

Full 3" exhaust out the back...

That is definitely a sweet ride TY!! I’m digging that rear end setup! I can’t tell if that is a 9” rear end or 12 bolt. I have a complete Hotchkis setup now....considering ditching the leaf springs and doing a four link or something like what you have.

that actually looks like a 10 Bolt. The 9" Rear Housing would look like this

What kind of warranty do your products carry T.C.?

BMR product applications are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of (2) two years from the date of sale to the original purchaser. Obligation under this warranty is limited to product replacement but not the reinstallation of the replacement product or other incidental costs. This warranty does not cover any product that has been subject to misuse, neglect, alteration, accident, or improper installation. Normal wear shall not be considered a defect under this warranty. All warranty adjustments are limited to replacement or credit of returned merchandise. This warranty specifically excludes impact damage or damage to powdercoat.

Beyond the 2 years, I try to be reasonable, but truth be told and I think this would apply across the industry, if you have a problem, it usually happens sooner than later. And luckily we don't have many problems.

10-bolt... 10 years no problems!

Complete bolt-in installation!

I think I might have to pull the trigger on the torque arm setup! I have a 12 bolt now that I need to add a posi unit to as well. What shocks would you recommend? Ride tech or QA1? I also have Detroit Speed frame connectors and a complete six speed Tremec manual swap from American Powertrain....will this torque arm setup work in conjunction with all of those products without any major modifications?

Ty, it seems like I am building my 71 very similar to what you have built. I was wondering if maybe I could get in touch with you and pick your brain a bit.:peepwall:

12-bolt will work fine just tell BMR when you order the Torque Arm and it'll bolt right up! Another benefit of removing the leaf springs and going with BMR's torque arm is that I'm running a 295/40/18 out back with no minitubs!

Coilovers... my recommendation would be to really think about what you'll ACTUALLY be using the car for and then decide. I went with AFCOs and while they are not "the be$t of the be$t" but they've worked fine for me for 10 years.

I'd ask BMR what they recommend, and look at the vendors that support this site... you have plenty of options there.

PM me for my contact info... always happy to help a fellow Buckeye!

Will this setup interfere with my DSE subframe connectors?

Not at all... I have the DSE subframe connectors too.

In all honesty Ty....do you think the quality of BMR is on the same level as DSE, RideTech and SpeedTech? I meant to get in touch with you over the weekend...hopefully this weekend.

Those are all high quality choices!

For me the torque arm with the watts link won out... plus the ability of a bolt-in suspension.
