Whats up everyone. Been a while since i posted here. Hope all is well with everyone!
Since the original build of my car, https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php?t=18578&highlight=kalis
is super old, i figured i'd make a new post showing the new upgrades, paint, body mods, ect.
I started standing half mile racing this car a few years ago. Ended up pushing 1290 rwhp out of the LS1, and going 192 in the half. Still manual trans and no funny stuff like traction control. Ran the last motor for 4 years at that power level.(Pump gas 93 oct daily, but c16 for the races) I Found most MPH in getting rid of the 4-5 shift by changing the 3:43 rear end to a 3:08 and revving the motor to 7600 rpm.(in 4th) Power dropped off over 7k, but it was enough to get the extra 8mph on the big end.
We saw the car on the VBOX hitting 201 just past the half mile.. so... we tore it apart. Added some more cage, BTR helped with a cam/valve train package, and Garrett came in with a pair of GTX3584RS's. My little bro Mike made some killer headers for it as well!
Looking to have roughly the same power.. just extend it to 8k rpm and we think it'll go 200 in the half.
While tearing into the car... I decided to have Autocraft here in Grand Rapids MI, do some body work and put some new paint on her. Did some different stuff in the interior, and BOOM!! She came out amazing.
Looks like i'll be pulling out the current engine management and going with a Holley Dominator as well.
Heres some newer pics before she goes back under the knife (re wire)... I missed the half mile event this year.. but looking to get it racing next spring!!

Wow I really like how this came out. Body mods aren't my thing, but this combination just works. Great color/wheels too.

Congrats on posting up some great speeds! Thanks for updating us, too. It's always great to see these cars get used like a car should be.

Nice to see you still enjoying it Josh and the upgrades are important. 200 MPH is no joke -- you need safety stuff to be "right" at those speeds!
Now the question is -- will Lila get a mini version of a Texas Mile car?? LOL

I'm a fan of body mods and I like them. Also, what are your wheel specs please?

Great upgrades all the way around. Great seeing that Steve Morris setup between the rails.
Your bro did some fantastic work on the headers. Look forward to seeing this car at one of the LSfest events.
Also, good call on the Holley upgrade. Will give you a ton of great options for data acquisition as you push this car to faster speeds.

Thanks Greg... We changed the 4 point roll bar to... i don't know.. 10 point now? Lots of bars above the driver and roof, a pillars, removable door bars.. ect. My little bro was building cages for those crazy ass Pre runners, so we did mine. Very strong.. and very tucked.
I also use a different seat when racing Its a Recaro Kevlar Halo seat.
Lila has moved to shifter kart stuff (converted to electric). Hanging at the local indoor Kart track flagging races and stuff. WH knows if she'll keep driving. She's got crazy talent thats for sure. The viral stuff got too viral. I had to back off it a bit. Last video had 70 million views. It was getting pretty crazy. She makes a decent amount of dough license out her clips though. lol.

Not sure what the back spacing and all that is. but fronts are 275/40/18. Rears are 345/30/19
Fav tire has been the R888.

Thanks. Morris is local to me. Finally got to have him put his hands on a motor. Pretty excited to see its performance. Would have already tuned and put some power down.. but the Holley Dom just got sent out today, so no sense in tuning it, then tuning it again.

I know where you are coming from. SM is one of the best holley guys out there so it will be an easy setup once you guys have the system in place.
Look forward to hearing the results.

Josh, your refreshed Camaro looks awesome! Glad to see it back on the road. Looking forward to seeing how version 2.0 runs!
Matt
I've seen this car a number of times at Shift Sector in CA and it is a beautiful build that he isn't scared of beating the hell out of! V2 looks like it will be even crazier..... looking forward to more pics!
BTW- I had the LS9 88mm turbo silver RX-7 there. Coalinga Airport is a slippery track for us RWD non traction control stick shift cars that is for sure!

One of my favorite photos is one that you sent with the 1200RWHP dyno run. She's a velvet beast JK!
