I am working on a 65 Mustang which is using a regular 302 small block and TCI IFS. I am planning on modifying the the crossmember now so if I decided on an Coyote engine, that part would be easier.
I do have some measurements on how much needs to cut from the TCI crossmember but I am missing some key numbers and I was hoping you can help me.
How much does the crossmember need to stepped down and in?
I have attached a picture of a Coyote modded crossmember, mine has none of those notches in the center.

How far back do you want to set the engine? What headers are going to work? do you have to offset it to one side or the other?, What about steering shaft clearance? Is the notch based upon stock oil pan? What year coyote? [they added some thingamagigger on the back of the motor in 2014?] I know you are doing it for a maybe someday reason, but there are a lot of variables.
