Looking for a 315/40-18, would like to be able to do occasional auto-X.
I don't think a 35 series is going to fill my large wheel well in the back. Hoping to do a 255/45 in front but have not confirmed that fit yet.
Open to thoughts as it going to be allot lower. Speech torque arm going in, and has global west coil overs and tubular arms on front.
Thanks, Joe

Your current tire is 27" tall.
The sizes you are asking about just don't exist in street tires.....you can buy hoosier slicks, though.
Tire Rack has a really neat search feature where you can search by size, or two sizes to come up with matching tires front and rear and I use it alot.
If a size I want is only available in one or two models from a couple of brands I usually avoid that tire as the reality of being able to replace them down the road non existent.
Back to the beginning, in 2018 if you want tall tires you buy truck tires or you run tall wheels. For a 27" tall tire that is a relatively common size and 200tw you need a 19" wheel. 305/30-19 is a very common size and is readily available in several different flavors.

Does your car have the room to fit a 305 tire, in any diameter, with at least a 10" width wheel? A 295/40/18 is 27.2" tall and will work well, on a 10" wheel.

Clint, yes up to a 315, but I didn't want to go over a 18 due to the wheel I wanted.
I may go with a 19 but I will have to consider other wheels.
Thanks, Joe

I understand,Joe. The wheels I want for my car, are only available in 17" or 18". No one else makes a pindrive knockoff Kidney Bean wheel in a 19. Really want to run a 19x11 rear wheel, with 325/30/19 tire, but no one builds the wheel I want. Forgeline makes something close but I can't afford $7K for a set of wheels.
