Anyone remember the advertisement for the AMC Pacer^^^?

77" wide with a 100" wheelbase?

Well, between the advert, Wayne's World:

And well, this advert:

Project Pacemaker was born.
65332
It'll take a lot of stiffening to get it to lateral-g standards, but should be pretty fun.
L76 and 6L80 going in.

Fits Like a glove!

Oh and who would've guessed it... this fits!!! (well... except the hood)

Can anyone say sleeper?!?!
Planning a Ford 8.8 out back, and some boxed areas between the subframe/rockers. Don't plan on running anything too sticky out back, so we're not planning a full cage as of yet.

Yep. I'm with Jarhead, I love the dare to be different motif. You could have a real blast with this, like what'll be on the license plate... FSH BOWL? Or PACE STR (Pace Setter), or FAT BUTY, or ... Have fun, looking forward to seeing it unfold!

Small update... having a tough time with pictures from my phone, I’ll try to upload more when I’m around a computer. I’ve changed focus a number of times in the last couple years as to whether I should be dumping $$$ into project cars or actually putting it toward something that’ll see a positive ROI:lmao:... but this project has remained (surprise, no one wants a torn apart Pacer) and it has progressed very slowly. Moved into a different place with a bit more shop space (nothing too fancy, but it’s nice to not cram 3 cars in a 2.5 car garage anymore!
Anyway, recent progress is getting me motivated again. I’ve installed a new rear axle (Ford 8.8 out of an explorer) with all new rear suspension. Ran a new fuel system and all new brake lines. I also found a ‘big’ (only 12”) disc brake kit to replace the drums on the Pacer. Who would’ve guessed someone makes a brake kit for Pacers?!?!

71209
71210
I’ve also patched the floor pans, as well as built mounts for the radiator and heat exchanger and acquired a set of wheels and tires. Now it’s time to commit to the Supercharger, and what better way than hacking a hole in the hood?
71207
Up next I’m doing a budget DOD delete with an ls9 cam and PAC 1218 springs. Then I’m going to work on final engine installation/assembly, plumbing lines, and running wires. I’ll need to trim the hood more for the fuel rail and am leaning toward building a cowl style hood bulge to hide the S/C lid. Gotta get this one buttoned up so i can focus on bigger and better things!

A Javelin/AMX Ram Air hood buldge may be enough to clear the blower and would look "correct"...
