I will be presenting my finished 69 Camaro to the forum, hopefully next week!!!

We decided to shave the outside door locks and install a MODO Innovations kit and now I'm worried about a back up plan if the battery dies or the MODO kit malfunctions. Has anyone come up with back up way to control the locks? Thanks

i shaved handles and locks in my 66 and i have a manual override cable connected that i ran up to the front of the car under the hood hidden in inner fender..i also did same for trunk release in case electric goes down cuz battery is mounted in rear.

My battery is in the trunk and i did keep the lock back there. Maybe i just keep a slim jim in there too...just in case :headscratch:

Mine are are shaved also. Figure if I can get into the trunk I can get power to the car (battery in trunk) and at least one of the doors should work. If not I'll have to use a BFR. I'll be interested to see what you do.

Ok, so I deleted several responses and deleted them so as not to jeopardize the security of several top-end builds, but is it not possible to instal a separate (hidden)actuator running in parallel similar to a standard central locking system, which activates with your MODO locks but is not relying on MODO.
meaning if something was to happen to your remote, you can simply, for example, get under the car and manually open an actuator which in turn will open your doors??
Sure it doesn't fix the dead battery issue but I believe this is possible.
