WEll i know some dont like it, the show i mean, but when we got the call from Rich Christenson the producer and he told us that season 4 will be totally different we bit on the hook!!
so here is the deal
WE will be building a protouring style car to compete against a drag car, at Seattle raceway on september 23 to be the first episode of season 4.
we are looking for a second gen camaro or 66-67 chevelle beaumont, gto
we need something by Wednsday and that gives us 4 weeks to build it and hopefully a day to test then in the trailer and off to the track to beat the drag car.
the car Must run between 10.40 and 10.60
plans are a 700 hp 572 ( just happen to have one sitting in the showroom)
power glide and brake(undr the bench)
9" (in the old race car)
18" wheels with Mickeythompson Radial DOT tires
it will be a bit of a cross between a protouring car and drag car, it has to hook so the suspension will be a 4 link but it will look like a pt car
i hope some of you can come out and watch and lend support. should be a really cool time

That is cool. We talked to them about doing it. They were selling it as a $5000 comercial at SEMA last year. We through our name in the hat, they called, but wanted us to come to Arizona! What sucks is they were 80 miles up the road at Gainesville later in the season, but I think they were pissy cause we would not trailer across the country to race. We have a 84 Z28 that is perfect for PINKS, And we were willing to race and really give it up if we lost.

Good Luck to you guys. This should be some killer promotion for the shop. Be sure to have some smokin chicks in your possie wearing little shirts with your website on them.

Congrats. Make sure everyone on your team (and some hot chicks like Frank said) within 50 feet of the Pinks square have T shirts with your logo in B I G letters.

there's a guy in MS that wanted $500 for a '67 Chevelle. I use it but I'm sure the floors are rusted among other things. Oh yeah, it's got a 8" tree growing from the engine bay so that may make doing an engine swap a little difficult.

Wow...if you lose that's gonna be a huge bill for some on air advertisement; considering their on a channel that doesn't get a lot of traffic to begin with. Are you sure you want to do this? If you lose the car can you write it off as a business expense?

Curious as to why you're building a pt style car for a drag race? Do you plan on attemting 10's on 18's?

Good luck, and let us know when the episode will be on, .

Why build a pt style car??? cuz anyone can bring a drag car to a drag race.
guys are running 7's on drag radials so that should be fast enough.

Ok, was just curious. I know cars run quick on drag radials, but those are 15's, not 18's. 10's on 18's might be a first.

Man the host of that show is complete DOOFUS! How could you take yourself so seriously? Anyway, best of luck. I might actually watch this one......

It's going to get interesting... they have totaly changed the format and it sounds like it could actually be some very intense racing, they want the cars to be very close in ET and they are not going to put up wiht as much BS
i guess we will see.

That one "technical advisor" on the show annoys me more then the host. The kid that was a contestant on one of the earlier shows. Dude thinks he knows everything.

On the last episode he said, "you know my motto, blow the pistons through the hood." What an idiot.

A total change in format could only improve the show. Up til now, the racing and cars have been secondary to the "negotiations" which largely consist of "he lifted so we should get 18 car lengths." Let us know if the show is on the level, or if you're required to sign some sort of confidentiality agreement that prevents you from discussing what really went on.
