I have them in my 69 and was told it puts the back of the motor same place it was. on my car the passenger head is 2" from my smoothed fire wall and the back of the motor is just about the same as the head. you could measure where your bell housing bolt up and see the difference.

I would look into the Holley swap system. They have mounts, pan, headers, crossmembers...all engineered to work together.

I used the S&P mounts when I started gathering my LS stuff a few years ago. I am still using those mounts and the Stainless Works LS (stock subframe) headers. It works well, but if I could do it over I would def do the Holley setup. I am using a T56 and have some minor driveline angle issues. While driveable, I wish I could drop my trans a little lower. The Holley kit issue takes care of that.

While I haven't had any issues with my S&P stuff, I have heard that things at S&P have been hit or miss since Mark (the original owner) died a couple of years ago. The last time I checked, their website was not up anymore.

I think a stop shopping for this swap is a great idea too.

I too have the Holley LS swap mounts, Stainless Steel mid length headers, trans.mount and everything bolted in as advertised in the factory location. My factory shifter location was maintained as well w/ original four speed car and now Tremec TKO-600 five speed.I would recommend the Holley kit.
