It should last a couple of times. The transmission shop built up all the weak points with hand build parts only time will tell. The 80e would be a better choise but i would have to cut the tunnel

1984 camaro
08-20-2006, 06:31 PM
The only shot I have is from the hatch. I do have some with the roll cage with the doors open but no interior. The interior is mostly bone stock with the countour package. that may change at a later date. I will get some from the sides but it will take some time the car is in california

The camaro will be done by spring the intake has been a lot of work months and months. Once that is complete the rest can be done most of all the little stuff is done fuel,brake,hydro-boost and transmission lines the 80e will take 2-3 weeks to get built and about another week to cut tunnel after i have transmission. Hang in there it will be at the shows next season

I will post updates as they happen and also check on nelsons site he will have pics of engine and the dyno run later on. The billet intake is the first of its kind and expected to be done in the next few weeks. I will keep you guys up to speed as progress continues

To my knowledge, we can't "mini tub" our thirdgens due to the coil spring location.... I hope you can prove this wrong. Too bad I was unaware of the car here in town, I LOVE seeing nice thirdgens due to them being so few and far between...

Hello
I wanted to say once again, very nice thirdgen camaro. I have a 1992 z28 with very similar goals in progress. You have more than exceeded what i am trying to do. But I love the progress that you are making. What size turbos are you running now? I am either going to run a couple of t60-1's or t70's. Do you have any more motor pics ready yet? And is that ecm better than the fast system or big stuff 3? I am currently running the fast ecm on mine. Once again great looking car..............

It was also nice to meet you. Not shure if the camaro will be done. We (tom nelson and I)backed out of sema this year since some components are only in the drawing stage and need to be built. It will be a few months yet. If it gets done by sema we will try for a long shot.

I saw your tubs personally and damn mark did a good job on those. Your camaro is probally one of best uses of pro touring on a 80's GM product so far. Your camaros gets it, I Like the thing quite a bit.

Thanks pontiac65 for the great post:thumbsup:

Mark Bohlen has some pics of the camaro tubs on his web site at www.bentcustomandperformance.com look for the gallery and 1984 camaro

I surfed Marks site ( www.bentcustomandperformance.com ) yesterday and all I can say is WOW !!!

I wonder if I could persuade him to do a road trip to Arkansas to plumb my truck. I would be honored :hail: to have his quality on my project.

Ship your car the cost is not that bad I just shipped a car from florida to wisconsin enclosed trailer for 1,200 bucks door to door. I felt the cost was worth the getting a great job. Just my .02 cents:yes:

I actually don't have a problem shipping the truck to them it's just a time issue that we are backed into. Maybe the next project. Heck I may just ship them the motor.

I'd love to do some mods to it but I think its better to not mess with the rarity of it??...

I have owned it for about 8 years and kept it all O.E and the miles down.

The stock injectors went south so I had to replace them. Did the Accel high impedance injectors. Also did a new chip for the computer for better performance.

Actually made a difference! I would love to do what you have done to you'rs.

Randy, your Camaro is absolutely awesome! I can't wait to see more pics and hopefully a feature in Camaro Performers. You have helped set an example of what 3rd gens have the potential of being and helps eliminate the bad stigma that 3rd gens seem to carry. I look at your ride as inspiration for my Camaro.

Congrats Randy!! Looks like your car/engine is in the new issue of Hot Rod.

That car is so sweet. Hope I get to meet you one of the times out there. Sounds like your car will be there when my car gets shipped out (Tom can tell ya what). Maybe I could pirate a ride or at least check out the man behind the car. There are so many cool touches and if I could get your opinion of which ones are "gotta have" that would be great.

Hello,
I have been following your car build for some time now. And it is the nicest thirdgen camaro out there (that i know of). I was wondering if you would consider getting some of the pics that you have & making some nice posters from them.

I would buy one or two to hang in my garage for sure! and if you made it one version one side and another picture on the other side, that would be great too!

Or email me some high resolution pictures and I will print a couple of them for me!

Let me know!
