Hey all! I have started working for a company called American Cylinder Head in Oakland, CA. Our company re-manufactures cylinder heads for anything that wears one. This is a 20,000 foot facility with some of the best machines available and a staff dedicated to quality first.

Letting a hot-rodder in this place is like a fox in the hen house. I immediately started looking into what heads we had in inventory that make things go fast. I was able to secure a supply of 243s and was thinking about putting a good spring package on them for people like us rather than letting them going bone stock. I have been looking at springs similar to the GMPP .570 units. These would be disassembled, steam cleaned, inspected, machined, and assembled with a hotter spring, new seals, valves done etc.

What do you see a paid going for? In a prior life, I was spending about $500 a pair for good cores, then building them from there. thoughts? Your input is appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dave

I see used 799/243's sell on LS1tech for $300-400 pair. A fresh pair from the machine shop seem to bring $450-$550 depending on the work done. The 823 LS3 heads run $100-$150 more.
