Guys it's definitely the wrong forum, but I've been looking for a year now. Hopefully some of you guys have what I need laying around.
Doing final assembly on my brothers 87' Chevy step side. He bought it brand new, and put 66k miles on it. I'm looking for a "shorty" rear chrome step bumper. There used to be a "manufacturer" that built a shorty chrome step bumper for these trucks, but they got bought out years ago, and it's no longer available.
I want a chrome diamond plate step bumper around 58"-60" wide. Condition doesn't really matter, as I can re chrome it.

I'm sure you've looked around but thought I'd mention a few places I'd look.
Westin
LMC
4wheelparts (they carry a ton of brands)
Good luck

Thanks boss. Yeah, I have The LMC, and 4WP catalogs, and it's no dice. As far as Westin goes, they retail through AutoZone, Orielly, etc, so it's a year, make, and model deal to them. They can't even tell me dimensions of their product.
My problem is in 1987, these trucks didn't come with a rear bumper, unless you wanted the curved smooth unit, which was useless. If you wanted a real bumper, that would be useful, and actually protect your butt in a rear collision, then you had to check no bumper option, and buy the step bumper from the dealer. It was a dealer installed option only, which meant that it was aftermarket. There is no GM rear step bumper designed for the narrow step side bed, and the aftermarket has long forgotten about these step side trucks, which are becoming hot items today. Maybe someone will start producing one with the demand. This gets talked about over on the truck forums quite a bit...
I'm 15 years late looking for one. I wish I had time to swap meet, or yard sale, but I just don't.

I've got a guy behind me that has a couple step sides sitting in the bushes, I'll take a look this weekend.
How about a 90's S-10?

Funny you posted that pic. I've looked at it multiple times over the last couple years, and as a last resort, that's what I'll do. Definitely the look I'm shooting for. I really appreciate your help here. If the step side trucks are worth a poot, the beds alone are bringing a grand in bad shape.
Thanks again!
