I bought this with some other parts a bit ago and decided I wont be using it anytime soon.

It's a 65 casting case with a 65-67 tailhousing, I believe it came from a galaxie.

Mostly new parts with billet input shaft, SKF bearings, all new bearings, seals, bushings and snap rings. The shift rails, cams and shafts have been polished and any questionable parts have been replaced. Its not a cheap rattle can rebuild.

What's the going rate?

Looks like it might be worth 1x to 1.5x Miati? :sieg:

What are you going to want for this trans? Been looking for a toploader.

I looked at the local Craigslist and found a few, none in this condition though. I ended up posting it for $1500 and the scattershield for a few hundred more.

It'd be perfect for that Fairlane you've got going together!

At least that!

Funny you mention Miata. I just bought a 76 C10 SWB for my oldest boy....so he'd stop dreaming of Miati. Thank you sweet baby Jesus, it worked!

Excellent choice! Those square bodies are coming back... Miatas not so much. :sieg: I drove a 79 C10 in high school.

Silly question maybe but can you change the tail housing back to a mustang?

Do you need any more parts for your builds? Maybe we can do some trading?

I'd like a close ratio, no scattershield needed

I believe the main shaft would need to be changed to switch over to the shorter tail shaft. I'd have to look at an exploded view again to be sure...Mike Maier would know.

As far as trades. I've got all the Mike Maier goodies under the car and am only needing motor goodies and motivation to complete.

I'll look into what exactly it takes when I get home later tonight and let you know.

:flag2: Happy Independence Day!

looks like a really nice unit for sure. I think I'm looking for a wide ratio for my turbo setup though. I have a bad ass shifter for a Toploader ready to go too.
