Road Trip KS to Mass

Hey everyone, may this is not the place to post but here it goes.

I am picking up my (new to me) 1970 Camaro and will be driving it home from McPherson Kansas to Boston Mass. I am going to be attenting the summer automotive institute at McPherson College.

I have started thinking about must brings and places to stop on the way. Not 100percent sure but likely will take I70 to I71 to I 90.

Any advice or words of wisdom would be awesome.

Other than bringing the tools you need to fix most things along the way, I'd sign up for some sort of roadside assistance program and would also plan for more days than needed for the return trip. Second point is twofold. It gives you extra time in case you run into any problems along the way, and if things go well it gives you time to check things out for fun along the way.

I always screw myself over on roadtrips and never have enough time to stop and smell the roses along the way. Plenty of cool stuff along the way if you are willing to detour off of the most direct route...Corvette Museum in KY and The Henry Ford in MI are two that immediately come to mind depending on the route you take.

Bring tools. Bring water. Bring flashlights. Bring a car charger. There have been plenty of times when I needed to be online (wiring diagrams or repair walkthrough) and couldn't because my phone was dead.

The Henry ford museum is wicked awesome.

I dont have too much to add to what the other guys said, however...

I attended McPherson for the 4 year program, graduated in 2011.

So tell Ed Barr, the metals teacher, that Dale Schwartz says hello, lol. Or any other teachers for that matter.

Also, he's a fantastic instructor. You'll learn a lot.

My hometown is Hutchinson KS. 30 minutes south of McPherson on K61. Back in the early 70's we used to drive to McPherson and cruise around town with Dust Off back when it was nearly stock. Later in the early 90's we lived in Yorkville, IL and I worked in Elgin. Small world.
