May be a good start to a project as its most likely scaring away some folks!

This is what happens when you pursue style over function, even if your function is only an autocross. While style is arguable, function is not. Re-think that tramp stamp.

Looks like a better start than some of the rotted out hulls I've seen some people use.

2 things...

1) I don't think that was cool even in the time period it was built.
2) Nothing that a good builder/fab guy cannot correct with new quarters, front clip, etc.

I'm sorry, that's just a ugly car to me. I know each to his own, but...
I agree though for the price (so far) it would be a good place to start to restore the '69 though.

That's what Stielow envisioned the Mule should look like.

^^ I agree. This car despite being butchered can be brought back and might even be more solid then some of the other cars I've seen. Plus when someone gets their hands on one they cut it up anyways.

Look at "inferno" by Roadster shop. It was a magazine car before they got it and when they took all the pretty red paint off it was a mess underneath. Then they cut it all up anyways.

Who all would consider $6700 a deal on this? Factor in you'll possibly need another $5000 in sheet metal to correctly put it back together and make it look like a 69 again. Then probably another $5000 in labor getting everything installed and welded in correctly. So, now we have an almost $17000 car. Not a pro-tourer that's been restored, but I'm sure you could find a decent factory 69 for that price without all of the hassle for nearly that price. What's y'all's opinions on this analogy?

I agree it doesn't make much sense but it happens all the time. I would think mostly by people that have skills to do most of it themselves or those that don't know what's involved.

That sounds like something Richard Rawlings would say.
