Hi everyone, I'm finally making some progress on my car and though I would share. I've been on this forum for quite some time, absorbing as much information as possible. All of my ideas have come from this forum in some way, so I though if someone else could benefit from what I'm doing that would be great. I'm basically self taught, so it's been quite the learning experience. I've managed to do everything myself so far and it's finally starting to feel like I'm getting there. The car will mostly look stock on the outside and interior, except for the wheels and under the hood.

These are some of the things on the car so far:

Speedtech street fighter front suspension with Ridetech shocks

Thanks, tubbed69. It's not going to be a full on road coarse car but it will be a fun street car.

Looks Great so far! You might want to put this Thread in the Project Update section vs. the intro page - I think you will get more views.

Unfortunately my car is just sitting at the body shop, I’ve been struggling to get my car worked on. If it’s not started soon I might pull it out of there and look for another shop.

Well that's not good and I am very sorry to here this news.

Don't give up just pull it and find a new shop.

Another option would be to pull off all of the small parts and you take them and have them powder coated. To keep the car safe from rusting you may also want to consider having everything put in an epoxy primer to protect. The head off to another body shop.

If you bring the car in primer it doesn't look like such a big project and all they have to do it take off all the stuff you powdered. Think of it as a baby step into a body shop. Plus the more you can powder the less you have to pay the painter and the less time it will be in BS Jail.

edit: You could also have them dust some paint on the interior, underside, inside of trunk and then while it is hanging out you could raptor liner the floor and Lizard skin / DEI Boom Mat the interior.

The guy doing my car is affordable, but is a one man show and theres to many cars in his shop. Some of the other shops I trust to do the paint, charge by the hour so it could get really pricey for me. Either way if my car isn't started in the next few weeks i'll be taking it home..lol Its a little disappointing when I worked on the car all winter and basically handed it to him ready to go. I even pre-assembled the whole car a couple of times while I was waiting for a spot in his shop. The only up side is it gives me time to save some money :)

Yep, I agree and the up side (saving money).

I am sure it would make you feel better if you were still doing some of the stuff like taking the parts to the Powder Coater which would save you some money in the long run I am sure.

Sooner or later Kenny and I are going to do another car or maybe redo my 70. Heck maybe even a full Roadster Shop Chassis. But what I have learned get as much stuff completed as you can before you send it to paint and body.

ps Not sure if you saw John is selling is Anvil full Carbon inner fenders and they sure would look good on your car. :G-Dub:

Marty I would love those inner fenders, the only problem is my want list is still so big. My next big purchases will be those Drive Junky pullies, a Ricks tank with VapourWorx and Forgeline wheels.

That would be sweet, to do a Roadster Shop Chassis. I would love to see that build 👍

I need a new job!!! :)

Trust me I understand that is why I am building my 70 in stages as my daughter is 1.5 years out of College/Med School. I have 4 more stages planned for the car and that will keep the big expenses down. What saved me the most money on the car was the Satin paint as I new I wanted to be able to park it a cruise night and not worry about and oddly enough everyone loves the paint. I have learned something after the last two builds...nice paint is great to look at but it sucks if you want to drive it and not worry about it.

ps my want list is huge !!!
