Here we go again...

Hello all!! Well after 10 years it's about that time to do it all over again... Another 69 Camaro underway! Bought a roller last spring and got it torn down, on the rotisserie, blasted, and back to the house for the complete transformation. I lucked out and found a wrecked 2010 Camaro with a supercharged LS3/6SPD. The previous owner put an Edelbrock E-force supercharger on it and wrecked it a week later. If I told you the deal I got on that car, I'd have to kill you...lol. Oh and by the way, since it's been so long and I've pretty much been out of the car scene since about 09, I'm definitely gonna have questions! I feel like I've forgotten everything! This site was a great resource last time so this is where I came first. Anyway, below is a short list of my plans along with my first of many questions! The car is going to be a street car 99.9% of the time so no cage and don't need suspension tuning capability of an F1 car. Just a nice driving pro-touring style car. Sorry if that offends you that I'm not tracking the car every weekend but I just know that I won't be. If I make it to a track a couple times, great. If not, I really don't care. I just want to have fun with it and not over stress about it. That's also not saying I want sub par parts but I don't need quadruple adjustable shocks, coolers for coolers on top of other coolers... You get the idea...lol

Thanks for any help you guys can give me! Here's what I know for now...
- Stock subframe
- Complete (front & rear) Ridetech coil over suspension
- DSE mini tubs & frame connectors
- 18's & 19's of unknown origin at this time
- flush mount glass
- Supercharged LS3/TR6060/9 inch
- many, many decisions yet to be made...

Now for my first couple questions... Please keep in mind this car is on a tighter budget than my last one so budget is a concern but not a deal killer for the right stuff.

1) I would have thought after 10 years buying the parts for an LS swap would have been a no brainer. I think for the most part it is but who has the best full kit to do it? I already have a set of stainless 1-7/8" Hooker full length headers so I was thinking the Holley swap kit is probably the best option but please chime in on this. The TR6060 might put a slight hiccup in this but shouldn't be too big of a deal. I was also hoping to find a kit that has the driveline angle already figured out. I realize ride height changes the driveline angle but let's be honest, the majority of the 69 Camaro's that sit "right" are all sitting pretty darn close to the same ride height. Maybe I'm crazy but I just would have thought by now, there would be simple solutions to all this and maybe there is...

2) Best bang for the buck 13"-15" brake options? I really want to go with manual brakes if possible. I feel this can be accomplished with the correct setup. (I'm going for super clean and basic under the hood).

I really need to get my pics posted but here's one of the Awesome Boze Clutch Concave wheels I'm going with. Zak really hooked me up for a second time and can't wait to get them!

Went to the Columbus Goodguys show and got some more ideas and actually ordered the 9" Currie rearend, and Synister front drive for the motor.

Got the tubs finally in the car and getting ready to get the DSE frame connectors in next and then move on to mocking up the motor/trans etc. Columbus got me excited again!

I promise I'll get some pics posted of the car asap but here's the wheels I just ordered!👍👍

Here's some random pics to bring you up to date... This is my first crack at all this welding so I'm sure it's far from perfect but I wanted to do it all myself this time around. I had most of the fab work on my last car done at a shop.

New ft and right front floors, left side toe kick, trunk floor, outer wheel tubs, inner mini tubs, and a few other minor repairs. Getting ready to put the subframe back in to do the DSE frame connectors. That's basically where I'm at right now. Been a very slow process as it's literally just me and I don't have a ton of spare time. Still shooting for Detroit Autorama 2019 but we'll see. As I said, I ordered the rear wheels so I can get a measurement for Currie to build the rearend. I'm really hoping to get it rolling on four wheels again by the end of September. I'm working on my car in his garage. It's a super clean, low mileage, original car. 283/PG. All we did was lower it, install power front disc brakes, aluminum radiator, and wheels. We also painted the insert the darker color from the interior and matched the wheels by painting the face. The car has never been apart. Original paint with just a few touch ups. It's really quite astonishing how clean it is. That car gets so much attention, it's crazy. Everyone loves that thing. We just had it down at the Goodguys Columbus show a couple weeks ago. Hung out at the DSE trailer for a bit. My son got a ride in the autocross with Kyle. Our Impalas have a similar stance but mine has been apart and back together about a million times before I bought it 25 years ago, mostly by people without the proper knowledge or tools. It was my daily driver and I have been lucky enough to keep it the entire time - even for a ten year span where I didn't drive it. Now I have built enough cars to have the knowledge and skill to build the 1961 Impala the way I want so I'm back at it. :)

If you're going to use the Ridetech swaybar you may have to remove the LCA bump stop. There isn't much clearance between the frame and the swaybar arms.

Got my wheels from BOZE! I was a little nervous on the Bronze color at first but I totally love them now that I've seen them in person! Thanks again Zak for taking care of me on the wheels!

As far as the rest of the build goes, I've switched gears on engine and suspension... I now have a DSE sub and Quadralink and switched from an LS3 to an LT4. We warmed up the LT4 with a cam, cnc port work from Katech, NX Supercharger lid, and a little bit smaller blower pulley from BTR. I'll have the engine next weekend. It was just painted over at Dutchboys shop. I'll get more pics of all this stuff once I have the engine next weekend. Hoping for some big power!

Waiting on a Rick's tank that should be here soon and a complete cooling package from Autorad (radiator support, radiator, intercooler, engine oil cooler, ps cooler, and condenser).

For now, I was super excited to get some shots posted with these wheels. Things should start progressing pretty regularly now and I'll update this much better than I have been. Got these plates made by Billy at B&B and got them tacked in place tonight. Waiting on motor and trans mounts to install those and finish fitting the firewall template. I'm going to waterjet a piece out for the firewall. Also should have my Ricks tank any day now. Once I get that in position I can mark where my corner notches will go for the exhaust and finish the Quadralink install.👍
Hoping to have the motor & trans in and it sitting on wheels by mid to late January. I really need to give a loud shout out to Jason Mitchell (JMitch19) for all the help with getting the LT4 taken care of! He seriously hooked me up with this motor and everything that went into it. He really went out of his way to make sure every detail was taken care of from taking the heads in, helping spec a cam, complete assembly, dropping it off and picking it up for paint, and even personally delivering it to me! Can't thank you enough man. Everything you did was truly appreciated!!:cheers:

The motor came out sweet. I'm working on a custom set of valve covers to hide the coils. I'll definitely post pics when those are done. I'm in the process of possibly starting a small company to build a few things that everyone here would use... More to come on that.
By the way, I'll be gone from the 20th-30th so if i wasn't bad enough already, probably no updates for a little bit.lol

Let's see what else I can change!! Actually, I've pretty much got everything nailed down at this point. Now I just need to get it done!

Got a few things done over the weekend. I was out of town from the 20th-30th but at least got this weekend to work on the car.
Getting the hang of this whole welding thing. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out but I really need to learn how to Tig. A Tig weld is so much cleaner. Just being picky...
Need to pick up a couple things before I can get the rearend hung but won't be long. I'll be powdercoating the center of the rearend housing the same Bronze that's on the wheels with Satin Black tubes/brackets.
Hopefully have the motor and trans mounts soon so I can get the tunnel and firewall done.

Thanks! Had a good few days working on it over the weekend. Worked 14 hours today at work so nothing got done today....lol
I've wanted one of these rearends for a while. I think the two tone powdercoat will add a nice touch. Looking forward to seeing it under the car!👍
