First car I have ever heard of that brought the front wheels off the ground factory stock.

Heard you the first time...lol!
So is this the best offering from Porsche? Or is it the best street mannered and hardest launching? Don't get me wrong, I love the brand, I just don't know much about the newer rides.
Singer, FTW!

Basher --- 450 to 500K for a Singer --- "only" 200ish for a new 911 Turbo S.
The 911 Turbo S is all wheel drive and has a feature (did I show you when you were here?) called "launch control". With a couple buttons - you set the brake with your foot - mat the throttle and lift off the brake and away you go! Hard!
It's so much fun!
The 911 Turbo S is their "top of the line" 911 for street use...... the 918 Spyder is the top of the line Porsche... at around a million and a half bucks USED. It's "almost" as quick. LOL
They make a 911 GT3 RS that is a very competent track car as well as street use and it's around $175K base price --- kinda their Pro Touring version you might say? But it's not as quick in acceleration at 3.1 secs 0-60..... it's REAR WHEEL DRIVE vs all wheel drive.
Frankly -- I've never been able to keep track of all the models Porsche makes just in the 911 version! Porsche shows 16 different models for the 911 line up.

Not to mention the options list...will seriously make your head spin. I'd venture to guess that many of the 911s sell with at least $35k in options. Leather-covered A/C vents? But of course!

I forgot about the 918 and I think the GT3 RS is what was sitting in the Bellevue showroom...black, lots of carbon, very racy looking. It was used and still close to 200k.
The only Porsche besides your SUV I've ridden in, was a mid 80's 911 with a big ole whale tail. Very basic, real mechanical and so much fun! That launch control sounds like a hoot, you'll have to show me and let me know if it still works with 250lbs of ballast in the passenger seat. :D

When I worked for Porsche in 1989, I priced out a Custom 911 with every accessory and the price of the car almost doubled

That Turbo S is an absolute beast! While the GT3RS is super cool I bet the turbo S is just as fast and a way better ride day 2 day.

I'll have to keep my eyes out around here then for one of them. Porsche's NA headquarters is by the Atlanta airport. We are also fortunate to have a lot of people in this city who have the means to own Porsches like this. Hell a Lambo passed me while running tonight. This city has a huge car culture.

Have you got the torsion bars cranked up in the front? :sieg:
Love the color....and the floors.
Congratulations!!!
The following tips will be helpful in obtaining optimum performance from your new Porsche. Despite the most modern, high-precision manufacturing methods, the moving parts must still wear in with each other. This wearing-in occurs mainly in the first 2,000 miles (3,000 km).
Therefore:
• Preferably take longer trips.
• Avoid frequent cold starts with short-distance driving whenever possible.
• Avoid full throttle starts and abrupt stops.
• Do not exceed maximum engine speed of 4,200 rpm.
• Do not run a cold engine at high rpm either in Neutral or in gear.
Remember: no racing or track events for the first 2000 Kms on your new car! Unless of course you are running a proper, dyno’d race engine!
• Do not let the engine labour, especially when driving uphill. Shift to the next lower gear in time (use the most favorable rpm range). Never lug the engine in high gear at low speeds. This rule applies at all times, not just during the break-in period.
• Do not participate in motor racing events, sports driving schools, etc. during the first 2,000 miles (3,200 kilometers).

A true "baller" friend would have called me and said -- Hey Weld! Geez you've suffered thru a terrible debacle - and I've missed you at the race track - so I'll just deliver your Mustang over to your new shop space there at Thunderhill. Don't you worry you're pretty little head - I'll have it all buffed out and ready to go for you. Totally hassle free..... and I'm so happy you're still alive you can have the car back FREE....
