I am trying to detemine required clearance to inner front fender of 69 camaro. Inner fender to fender measures 72" , Hub to Hub with rotor hat is 62.1" Using 9 inch (10" overall) wheels with 6.75" BS yields about 1.7" of clearance between tire and inner fender or an overall width for tire to tire of 68.6". Is this too much/not enough.
Problem is that rear lip on rim is 6". With the configuration above the front lip will only be about 1". I feel 1" may look funny and I think I should have at least 2" of lip. THe reason I will only have 1" is because the rims (which have not been hooped yet) were made with an 1.75" pad. My brake calipers only require 1.27" of clearance. At the time I did not know what sub-frame I was using so they said (wheel manufacturer) they woudl machine the wheel with a long pad so that it could be cut once rim width and BS was known. Now they claim they cannot cut the pad down because...yada yada..
WHat are your thoughts on the minimum lip needed on the front? and clearance to fender? If I do not need as much clearance then I can change BS to give more lip.
