As the heading says, I am looking for someone that has a '68 Camaro Z/28 than can give me some dimensions on where to drill the holes for the Z/28 fender emblems. I have the manual, but it's really deceiving. It gives two dimensions (as 0) but they are out there in mid air. One (the vertical), is suppose to be at the face of the fire wall I read somewhere. The other (horizontal), shows to be about 6" below the bottom of the car, with no reference to it. It just says to start with these two dimensions (0) and measure from there, but where are these dimensions measured from? I would like to have the dimensions to the first hole on the "8" of the Z/28 (closest to the door) and how far up from the body line. The next dimension is the word "Camaro", that goes on the back of the fender just behind the front tire and above the body line.
Thanks for any help,

The "0" is an engineering point where all other dimensions start from, it is a tangent point. Look on top of the cowl above the heater box in front of the windshield. You will find a hole, this is your zero ("0") point.

That makes sense. What about the horizontal 0, it seems to be about 6" below the bottom of the rocker. I understand the first "reference" point, being a tool and die maker for years we used to put a "reference hole or ball" on the die shoe as a point of starting reference.
Thanks for the reply.

I would consider buying the templates. Good luck!

You might want to mark as per template then see if the repro emblem holes line up. Sometimes the repro stuff is off from the NOS parts. Measure twice drill once.

I know that's right. I took the template and with some help, figured out where the holes went according to the AIM.
