Has anyone modified a 1st Gen SpeedTech Pro-Touring Subframe to allow them to low mount a Sanden AC compressor?
I have a LSA motor I will be installing in my 69 Camaro and I would like to use the GMPP Parts modified LSA Accessory Drive Kit. None of the other accessory systems appear to use a separate belt for the supercharger or appear to have very good way of driving the supercharger at higher boost levels.
People using the accessory system I would like to use have successfully notched and boxed the factory subframe and DSE subframe. Just trying to find out if any one has successfully modified a SpeedTech subframe.
Thanks,
Dave

Well lets begin I have an extreme chassis using the stock lsa accessory drive. I am using all speedtechs stuff including the qwik performance low mount ac bracket. Unfortunatly with these parts you have to decide if you want ac and no right side header or what. These parts do not fit and work together. I am sure they can be modified and work. I will post pictures today

The compressor is about an eight of an inch from being on the bracket. I suppose someone could beat the header into submission. Lol

check with kwik. on what ac compressor to use I think the 507? is smaller. I know we tried this set up early on in the development. we had a prototype kwik bracket that they supplied.
obviously we can not try EVERY possible combination that is on the market. but we do know all the front mount kits fit. the GM stuff is a bit of a crap shoot as they change thinks a lot. I do know we tried 5 different GM AC compressors and they were all so different and none of them fit.

went and found some more info
the kit we test fit was KWIK 10355
an a not on our parts description:
Corvette and LSA factory front drive
use Sandin SD7B10 (7176) compressor
hope that helps some

That is the exact parts being used in this mock up. And as you can see it does not fit The cylinder 2 header tube is in the way

Well. I will have to check if Ultimate headers changed that tube from the original design?
