My AME 4-bar brackets are setup with 6" between the mounting points, would it hurt or kill performance if I lessened the space between them to 5" with the bars parellel? I lowered my car quite a bit and need to get the bars level again and packaging reasons don't allow to keep the bars 6" apart anymore. Thanks in advance!!

Narrowing the distance will increase torsional load on the bracketry. Just make sure the bracketry is beefy enough to take the extra load.

Mark, I was thinking of relocating all mounting holes except the upper x-member holes. If I do this and close the gap between the bars to 5" from 6" I can get the bars level and clear the floor with room for bump at the desired ride height.
