Thanks T.C. !! Was great news for sure! People don't understand cancer -- it weighs on you daily... is it "back" -- is it still there.... will it move to somewhere else etc.
By the way ----- so much for Obamacare -- laughing at this thought --- our insurance is up about double what it was before O'care.... and my out of pocket cost per procedure is about 18 grand. What would normal folks do!?!?!?!?!
I hear you! I'm getting my Knee replaced in 3 weeks and after my Auto Insurance (was in an Accident 2 months ago) & Medical Insurance, I'm betting I will be out of Pocket $6,000! :waveflag:

Fantastic news GW! Stay healthy and strong forever!
EDIT: BTW, re: my quick O-Care story ... my boy has had a lifelong an endocrine issue. We deal, but every year the changing insurance coverage is an issue. Past few years, it's been about the medicine costs. Year one was about $6k a quarter. It got better and I thought we outsmarted them last year at next to no cost. This year his specialist does not accept his insurance. We paid out of pocket, but it's over the top. We 'finally' got an in network appointment at CHLA in DECEMBER! This means we'll get one appointment out of insurance before it changes again next year. In a city of about 10 million you'd think Blue Shield would have more than one pediatric specialist? F'n ridiculous!

Funny -- My Doctor at Mayo said he just loves to see me.... because most all of his patients have so many on going issues and that while many of them do get better - they've suffered so. He gets giddy when he's showing us the MRI images and how much improved everything is. For the first time this visit - he sorta acknowledged my course of medicine might just be the miracle.

Freaking Awesome !!!
NO KIDDING!! Except in your system they might just say -- oh well -- so sorry.... IDK. I've heard that in England if you have prostate cancer and you're 65+ they just say that! I don't know if that really is fact.
Funny my best friends father who is 75 and healthy except for Colon cancer living in Italy had to fly here to America to have surgery since after a certain age (don't know the actual number) they don't do extended life car. So they basically sent him home to die. He chose to fly here have surgery and then had back home 6 weeks later. Good news is he is doing fine.

btw - Screw Obamacare as it's f-n worthless and all it did for me was raise our insurance costs to the point of stupidity.
Our rates are well over double -- I have coverage for items we don't want or need (Gwen won't be pregnant any time soon).... our deductible is near $10,000 (in my eyes you need to add this amount to your premium costs to figure out what you're really paying for insurance).... and the out of pocket for all the crap they don't cover now (they used to) would break a working family.
Basically O'care forced those that couldn't afford insurance to buy it - which many probably didn't anyway -- they'll still stick the doctors and hospitals with unpaid bills -- and then the pre-existing conditions mandate swamped everyone with costs that are simply unsustainable regardless of how much my premiums went up.
We need a multi tiered system -- public and private -- not everyone is going to get premium care - they'll get the care they "need" to sustain.... which is more what the euro and canadian models are. You get basic care - more than that - you pay for private care. It may not be "fair" - but life isn't fair nor is it "equal". Never has been - never will be. We need to have controls on what it COSTS -- because that's why insurance is so costly that people can't afford it. We probably also will have to go to a non-profit system for basic healthcare. It's all driven by money. If someone invests in a hospital - then they want a return on that investment..... so that's where "government" needs to step in and build clinics and staff them.
If a people can't afford to pay for medical school -- fine -- we'll pay for it - and you can pay it back with giving an equal amount of time to one of the community clinics or hospitals. You'll get a basic salary - and when you're done you can do whatever you want with the rest of your career.

Well said Greg.
Our deductible is 3,500 per person (family of 4) and 80-20 on the billing.
Last year we spent an additional 30 grand after paying premiums because they found three new nodules in my left lung. This year has been just as bad because my wife had a few procedures and my youngest daughter is missing 7 adult teeth so the cosmetic dental work is going to be close to $20.000. Funny that forced dental insurance that we have to pay for doesn't cover any of it. We are still battling with the insurance as this is actually considered necessary dental work not cosmetic. Even though they call it cosmetic.

Sorry for the rant, but here are my thoughts...
Actually, there are things that are much simpler to O'care and government purchased everything that could be done to fix the system.
The fundamental issue, in my humble estimation, is there are significant structural forces that have completely screwed up healthcare.
First and foremost - the consumer must have transparency to cost. How many times have you gone to have a procedure without any clue as to what it will cost and what your total out of pocket cost will be.
Imagine what would happen if you were having some work done on your car. You drive up to the mechanic and simply say "fix it". A time period later, you get your car back and everything is working. You drive away happy, because the thing that was broken is now fixed.
Over the course of the next six to twelve months you get random high dollar bills. One for the engine specialist. One for the body guy. One for the paint booth owner. ... and so on.
Now, imagine that the government passes laws saying that there are certain things on your car that you cannot have access to. It will cause your car to be dangerous, they say, to give to the general public. This includes things such as tires, brake pads, etc. You must go through your mechanic to have them install these, else you'll endanger everyone else on the road.
This is exactly what we have in healthcare. Imagine if the law required that, doctors and hospitals could charge whatever they wanted, but every single procedure they offer must have prices publicly listed and whatever price they post is what must be paid.
Imagine if people had access to the wide variety of drugs that today are only available to doctors. Instead of keeping people ignorant and must go to the doctors for prescription, drug makers must inform the population on the pros and cons of their offering.
Finally, imagine if there were real competition between doctors and hospitals. Consumer reports or similar would yearly compare, much the same way happens in the auto industry, cost / quality / overall value for different procedures.
O'care did none of these. Instead it made things far, far worse. People are much further abstracted from the whole of payer, provider and consumer process.
Sigh... Enough of a rant. Thanks for the indulgence.

I won't get into the lack of Constitutional authority the Federal Government has to undertake such a program, but instead will focus on how this idea could work.
Start a foundation with this goal! :gitrdun: I love it! When do we get started? Where can I contribute?

This is a great idea!
The other thing that just kills me <is that the wrong expression in a healthcare discussion?>.... if a procedure is "retail" $5,000 -- but they have an agreement with the insurance company where it only pays $2,000...... then that is the value of that procedure. Don't bill me $5,000 for it!! WTF
When I worked (pre WWI) - a store was not allowed to advertise something as being "on sale" -- or discounted from a price -- unless they could show that they actually had offered and had sales of that item at the higher price prior. Period. Otherwise the "sale price" was the price -- so stating that it was "on sale" was complete BS.
Why bill an uninsured person $5,000 when you're willing to do the procedure for only $2,000. You'd probably stand a better chance of collecting on the 2K bill than the 5K (or 50K - or 500K) bill.

I use a "annual pay" doctor here for normal stuff -- a "concierge" doctor I think they're called. So that's ON TOP of the insurance premiums and deductible.....
I like the ACCESS! Call and you're in! Plus I like the doctor - he talks to me like I talk to my friends (in other words - not nice and doesn't beat around the bush).
IMHO "Obamacare" totally hosed the insurance that we HAD and liked --- costs have gone WAY WAY up - deductible is double or more... and coverage is less. All typical and expected when the "government" gets involved.

I thought this was an very interesting business model and I have looked around in my area to find a Doctor like this!
Their model is supposedly to have fewer patients -- with a higher / steady income for their practice. It makes total sense. They interviewed ME to see if they wanted me as a patient. Of course that's a two way street....
At the time I had an extremely high probability of death.... so maybe they thought WTH -- he pays for a year and only lives for 3 or 4 more months! SMART!!!! LOL
Actually -- the doctor thought my case was "interesting".... Which - I guess, if you're in his business - he'd be just like us - certain things would be interesting over the usual sniffles or a rash.

Happy New Year 2018 !!
So far -- Still cancer free! Thank you THC/CBD. Amazing. I still can't figure it all out but we'll roll with it.
I have not had any THC/CBD or smoked anything etc since March 2017 when the Mayo Clinic said I was 100% cancer free. I'm not on ANY medications - zero - not so much as an aspirin. Not bad for being almost 65 !
I go back to the Mayo mid January for another ERCP (they go in to clean out the stents in my liver - this is an every 4 months procedure now) and the usual battery of tests... at which time I'm hoping to get another "you're good to go" result.
Sadly -- I have made up an "email" about the dosage etc for the treatment of cancer - that gets requested almost daily by someone. It's not the rambling that has been posted here. It's more straight up - here's a video to watch - here's what you're looking for - here's the dosage - kind of email. If you know of someone that is interested - just PM me your email and I will (sadly) forward it.
I hope to not have to send it to anyone in 2018.....

I mentioned weed/cancer to a coworker just today. Told him how effective it is for some. Not the answer, but an alternative for some. He initially said "I saw a video that said that was all bull**** and not proven..." we had a good discussion about what I have read and it seemed to open his mind up to considering more than just one negative video... I hope with all the continuing legalization, more progress is made.
I welcome any emails from you GW, but I hope not to need that particular one.

This "alternative" takes a very open mind. But really - it just takes the willingness to crawl around the internet a bit and follow the trail that takes. There's a zillion videos. The University of Israel is doing studies on it.... And the US Health and Human Services owns the patent on its medical use. Despite what the idiots at the DEA have to say <no medical uses whatsoever> about it.
Do ya think the DEA ever picked up the phone and asked the US Health and Human Services Dept why they have the patent on its medical use? Yeah... NO. We're talking "government" here.... that would never happen.
The truth is -- cancer treatment is big business -- $200 BILLION annually.... but we all know people that have done Chemo and Radiation and have suffered the side effects for months - and then passed anyway. Or been given the all clear - only to have it come roaring back.
I'm hoping this treatment works better than that.... so far... knock on wood... it seems to be. Time will tell.
In the meantime - I'm goin racin'

Not one to speak often here but I can truly attest to the validity of CBD oil. My wife passed away after battling breast cancer in 2016 and it wasn't until afterwards that I learned about CBD oil. As a hardcore skeptic initially, I have to say that there's definitely something to this, and not just for cancer patients...anxiety, sleeplessness, migraines, etc. can all be treated with succes. I get mine from Zilis and can post a link for anyone interested.

I’m now and will be forever stuck with these permanent stents which require constant intervention to keep the bile flowing... mind you... this requires flights to Scottsdale.... dogs in the kennel... hotel room expense etc. By April I will have

Thanks for the kind words Bill..... right now -- what I really have, is a plumbing issue. The surgeons seem to think (they're just guessing) that they can continue to clean the stents out for "awhile".... basically we'll continue this course "until they can't". Nobody will know when that is. At that point - my only option will be what's called "The Whipple". Surgeon said straight up - they won't do that until my only other choice is death. Apparently it's not a great surgery -- lots of complications - digestive issues etc. The surgery is "easy" - but the post op is a problem.
Right now --- I'm just about two years "after death" --- and my plan is to stretch this out as long as I can!! LOL I do truly appreciate the extra time I can tell ya!

Well ---- as many of you know --- I've been going to the Mayo Clinic about every three months for getting my roto rooter treatment.... each time they do biopsies of my bile duct and they've never found any cancer....
I was originally diagnosed May of 2016 --
At my January clean out -- they did some CT Scans -- and after doing the normal one - they called me back for another CT scan which looked at a different region because they had seen some "spots" on my lungs -- and they've been monitoring a couple lymph nodes.
So this visit -- last week - they did the usual roto rooter -- and took some biopsies of the lymph nodes - which the surgeon described as "worrisome".
Sadly -- they are more than worrisome -- they came back as positive for cancer. It's Adenocarcinoma
Cancer is like this --- it goes away -- only to strike somewhere else. Crazy - but we all hear this all the time.
While I will meet with the Oncologist at the Mayo ---- I doubt I'll use their treatment..... The THC/CBD oil I did last time -- (when I was MUCH MUCH sicker and had been given the death sentence) -- kicked that bad boys ass... So why not give it a go once again.
I share this here -- because once again - it will be interesting to see what happens. If it works again -- it will be further evidence that there's more than just poison (Chemo) to fight this crap with.

Ha yes who needs guns when weld is still around lol.
Now are you currently easing your way back to your previous therapeutic dose of thc/cbd and will the dosing course (time frame) be shorter due to it being less aggressive form of CA? Guessing future treatments/dosing will be determined by follow up Radiology/CT?

My "plan" is to begin tonight with a 1/10 gram dose of 72% THC and same dose of 72% CBD oil in a gel capsule before bed....
I'm going to TRY that larger dose because I "think" I'll be able to handle the effects. Normally they suggest starting with a dose half the size of a grain of white rice.... but I'm an "old hand" now and therefore think I'll be able to tolerate (understand) this higher beginning dosage. Maybe not - we'll find out.
I'd like to ramp the dosage rather quickly and work up to taking the recommended 500 mg per day. Last time around I worked up to taking about 1000mg per day just because I didn't understand how to even work out the dosage amount. I plan to get to taking (ingesting) one full gram syringe (720mg) per day as quickly as I can stand it.

My trackin' buddy Pete called this morning -- he was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer about 4 months before me back in 2016.... We discussed the fact that about 50% of cancer patients die from the CHEMO..... Greg,
Before the first dose of THC and CBD hits, I have a question. Now in case the THC and CBD has already hit, I will ask the same question in 2 ways.
The first is in a non high format, the 2nd is in a high as a kite format.
1) Did you find in the midst of your previous THC/CBD dosing, did your appetite increase accordingly and did you feel your demeanor/personality change as well while “high”? Is an increase in appetite while dosing inevitable or is it a myth? Did your personal trainer hate you for snacking?
2) Bro, when you were like totally baked bro did you ever get the munchies bro? and while like high, did you feel like Jeff Spicoli Van Halen Running with the Devil - I wanna surf some totally tasty waves high or were you like more mellow like Jeff Bridges, the dude - Big Lebowski listening to Creedence Looking Out the Back Door sipping white Russians high? Was your personal trainer like totally bogus about your snacking bro??

Well I just had my Mayo Clinic Oncologist appointment.... I will sum this up with "a total waste of time".....
A quick recap -- the Mayo was the THIRD hospital I visited after my May 2016 Cancer diagnosis.... I didn't see them for 9 to 10 months after my initial diagnosis... at which time they proclaimed me cancer free...
Now they're saying this cancer is part of the original diagnosis - and that while there is chemo treatment -- it isn't "curable" - only treatable... and with chemo (which I've NEVER done!).... I should get a couple years. LOL ---- are you serious??
So I'll just do my own thing -- THC/CBD oil..... and I'll just live until I don't. LOL
Amazing with all the advances in medicine and top notch centers you're going to you have to deal with conflicting diagnosis. As you said, live life to the fullest, live healthy, and don't pay attention to worst case scenarios they pull out of their arse.

Crazy huh Adam!?!?!?!
If I'd have chosen to do chemo at the time of diagnosis -- I'd be dead already....
Instead -- I haven't spent only about a week of the entire ordeal even feeling somewhat ill.....
Sure hope my new race car gets finished here sometime soon! LOL

They gave you six months last time so this time you ought to live until your at least 80.
Many things they can do these days is amazing to me, but they don't have it all figured out by a long shot. They just discovered a new organ last month.
I bought some CBD and definitely noticed less soreness from Crossfit at first. Kelli also tried it and it completely wiped out a migraine in minutes. It seems like you must keep taking more and more to achieve the same results. I've only had it a short time and I think I'll use it just when I need it moving forward as my body seems to build up a tolerance quickly.

Yeah no kidding!!! Tolerance doubles every 4 days!!
I noticed this time -- I started out with a 1/10th (100mg) dose and the next night jumped to 2/10ths --- that would have absolutely wiped me O U T for about a week last time I did this! This time was a total "ho hum". That's not to say it's not powerful (the THC) but it just is easier to handle the "high" this time.
A couple of our friends have gone from taking Ambien (nightly for years) -- to just using CBD oil for sleeping.....

Thanks!!!
The Mayo is sending my cancer cells out for "marking" or genomic info. I think they're sending to Foundation One at my request.
Now -- all that does -- is tells you if your cells have a specific makeup.... and if you know that makeup - there are "targeted" therapies that might be/ will be selected because they've been proven to work well with that marker....
For now - I'm going to do my 90 day - 60 grams of THC/CBD -- and when I'm back down (to the Mayo) for other testing etc - about June - I'll see if my "juice" is working.... if not (in other words are the lymph nodes shrinking etc) it'll kind of be an "oh well".... because I'm not doing chemo.
My cancer is "treatable" -- it is NOT -- "curable".... I don't care to take on chemo when it's not one of the new targeted / immunotherapy treatments and so far - those have not been offered (if there even are any).

Well --- these plans were laid before this latest diagnosis..... but the Dually is the haul master choice for the 40' InTech gooseneck trailer I have designed so I could travel the USA for 2019 and run NASA TTU group races with the new car.

Ford drop shipped it straight to Kelderman in Iowa..... They installed the full Rear and Front air system for the F-450..... and then Apple Ford picked it up and shipped it to me -- truck had 69 miles on it when it was dropped in my driveway.
I dare say --- the 450 rides every bit as smooth and quiet as my half ton HighCountry! I'm so impressed it's unreal. Gwen has put 600 miles on the truck now.... and actually is also impressed!

I met with the Oncologist yesterday morning at The Mayo in Scottsdale.....
ZERO change in my "spots" --- so no growth --- and more importantly --- NO CANCER found elsewhere either..... And given the location of the cancer (lymph nodes) this is very excellent news.
Not the news I had hoped for.... Which would have been --- "the spots are gone".
So the Doc was obviously pleased ---- and more importantly extremely SURPRISED with the results. I finally asked him ---- "so what did you expect to see this visit?" He said A LOT of growth -- and in fact -- they'd wanted me to come back one month after this last diagnosis because they wanted to measure and track the growth.
The other thing I think EVERY cancer patient should ask to have done ------ GENOMIC SEQUENCING!! I had my cancer cells shipped to Foundation One for testing. They figure out exactly what you're particular cancer cell is ---- and then search for a known match for drugs to treat it -- or clinical trials being run etc.
Sadly ---- The cells I have are known to have NO CURE NO EFFECTIVE TREATMNET.... so basically --- I'm a walking dead guy now. BUT don't worry -- not soon === not suffering ---- not really sick --- hanging my shingle out ---

These spots are "only" a 1/4" right now. The problem is not the size -- but the location. It probably couldn't get in a worse spot. But we have no control over such things.

I've mentioned Foundation One here ---- this is an expensive - not covered by insurance - Genomic Sequencing testing biz.....
https://www.foundationmedicine.com/genomic-testing/foundation-one
$6,500 or so will get you a comprehensive result for which drugs will, or have, had good results with chemotherapy..... or if there are clinical trials specific to your type of cells.... or any other useful information that might help guide the docs (mostly yourself) to some form of treatment(s).
I had hoped mine would come back with a specific "mutation" that KEYTRUDA treats..... but no such luck. At least I know.
This is a 62 page 'report' -- but the box on the front page is all that is important initially...... and sadly mine sucks.
FIRST identifies mutations and markers.......
66026
Sorry it's hard to read the columns ---- but basically it matches these mutations or markers with any KNOWN chemo treatment that works on it -- or clinical trials - Targeted therapy, etc. There are many TYPES of cancer -- Lung - Liver - Bone - but what's IMPORTANT is what cellular makeup is the cancer ---- because then you can really drill down on finding something known to be effective on THOSE CELLS !!

I caught a quick blurb on the news last night, something about the FDA finally approving a form of CBD oil to be used for seizure medication. I missed most of the story though, has anyone in here heard of this or have any more information on it?
Also, my wife met someone at a convention recently that said there are provisions in the new Farm Bill that allow the production of CBD Oil in the US finally...but I'm not sure if it has passed yet or if the provision made it to the final version.
All of the above is good news to me, it tells me this movement is gaining traction...

Been about another month now..... and in my current world.... that's a long time.
People continue to ask "how am I".... and frankly -- I really just don't know. Some days are great some days suck.... some start off crappy and get better and some are the opposite. This morning when I got up at 5:30AM to let Stella and Rosie out.... I said to Gwen "I feel 100% today"..... by 10AM I said "I might have jumped the gun".
To be perfectly honest -- I have a drive out to Cali to the track with the new car... and instead of looking forward to it - I'm kinda starting to ask myself "why". But then.... I'll get out there and get jacked up - and then I'll fall apart. My point - when you have this crap -- and I'm pretty sure it's still there -- you just don't know hour by hour how you're going to feel.
Some times I wonder if I'm not just "depressed" after battling this crap for 2 years now. And other times I think -- ARE YOU KIDDING! I'VE BEEN WINNING FOR 2 YEARS so WTF.
Taking a 3/10th's dose of CBD only - every night (early evening) - and I get up every day and put my shoes on. My plan is to continue to do so.... until I can't.

Depression is a greater monster than the C. Sometimes there is absolutely no reason for it and it comes anyway, it is horrible to have that cloud and know in the back of your mind that you don't truly feel that way. Confusing and energy draining. No amount of friends or conversations can fix it, but one thing that works a fair amount of the time is distraction... "pushing through it".
Your story, and your continued strength is giving hope to a lot more folks than you can imagine GW.

Had a follow up call with the CannaNurse I use (she's super helpful and knowledgeable!) -- I use "KAREN" from CannaKids. You go to their website and you can schedule a call -- half hour is about $85 and that's all the time I need.
So I've been doing 3/10ths CBD only - take it around 5:30 before dinner -- that way I feel better when I wake up (early riser).... and I've been doing this since doing the BIG DOLLUP DEAL right after this last diagnosis.....
She wants me to ADD BACK the THC to a 1:1 basis --- until I get a "clear" scan result. Then just the CBD would be fine....
So after this next big car event --- The Missile at Thunderhill -- I'll start to work that back in to the mix. It's all just a big guessing game -- but I'm still walking and shifting gears --- and that's FAR ahead of where the pros had me by this time! So guess I'll just continue to carry on. :trophy-1302:

I hate to see you going through this man.:bang: It's got to be extremely tough to stay positive. I still take the CBD once in a while to cool my jets and it doesn't take much to really relax me. With the dose you take, it's got to make you very tired all the time. That's likely part of the reason it works.
I'd be watching positive videos and reading positive books. Reflecting on old photos and experiences. Talking to those you love most or can make you laugh. Find ways to be productive. Writing down something you're grateful for first thing is a good way to start the day. Towards the end of 2017 I spent 65 days in a row doing that. Many days I had to fight through a piss poor attitude to get it done, but it nearly always changed my attitude for the better. Now I can go back and read those notes and it helps do the same thing. They've proven optimism helps your immune system.

Glad you are hanging around for a few more laps!
I'm really just trying to keep the info flowing about my rather unorthodox treatment so people can refer to this thread should they ever (sadly) need it. Since I am not under a doctors care for the cancer -- and I don't even take an aspirin.... I'm not on a single pill for ANYTHING.... I have to believe this THC/CBD stuff is doing "some good".... While I know I'll lose the battle at some point - stretching that point out as long as I can is the goal. Not spending time in a hospital and being sick the entire time with the chemo drugs is the other goal. I've been able to live a completely normal life doing this my way. I think it's gone rather swimmingly!! LOL

My ERCP procedure went quite well today -- they did need to do some housekeeping so it's a good thing I had it done. It's all a big guessing game as to how long I can go between these events. Obviously - since it's surgery where they knock you clear out (joked with the folks in the operating room about not giving me quite as much as Michael Jackson took)..... and asked to make sure they knew they weren't amputating anything..... you want to put these off as long as possible -- without going too long and having something real bad happen.
Being here in Scottsdale now - will allow them to monitor my blood work more frequently. That will give a good indication for how the liver is functioning.
All in all -- all's good!

Yeah -- this "check up" and ERCP went "okay"..... Was hoping the cancer was gone but it's not - so slowing the progression is better than nothing. Losing - just losing more slowly for now.

Good question Brycen — and I don’t have a medical answer for this. I’m doing “okay” and feeling “okay” - okay being relative to being 100% of which I certainly am not! My energy level most days is about 40%.... but this is a combination of things - a lot of which is just the ongoing effects of the CBD/THC I take.... this stuff kicks your butt....
I don’t have any medical treatment going — so I won’t have another CT scan until this month sometime... and that will tell me if the cancer has metastasized or grown. My “sense of well being” is telling me it’s not growing much - and that it has not metastasized....
When the effects of the “stuff” wear off (noon each day) then I feel good — and I go about doing whatever it is we have planned for the day.... to include spending the entire day running around the desert mountains in a RZR with Ed Capen.... LOL — I eat a lot of dust - and don’t drive it - I’m just a passenger.... but what I’m saying is — I can manage to do something like that for hours and hours.... so I’m doing okay in my book!
We had a busy holiday period with kids home — and contractors here at the new house in Scottsdale (Paradise Valley really).... and I managed to survive that!! LOL

Hey Butthead, post your latest results.:poke:
GregWeld
02-03-2019, 06:59 AM
Sorry — forgot to post my latest test results here.
I had a CT scan on the 31st..... and...... there is no disease progression and no metastasis since the last scan.
I’m on a “maintenance” dose of very high potency CBD oil - and that has some THC in it.... and that’s ALL I’ve been doing. Then 3 weeks ago I added Vitamin B17..... Vitamin B17 is every bit as controversial as THC/CBD..... But I figure it won’t hurt me - if not overdone - so my thought is “why not”. It’s Apricot seeds in a powdered form - I’m taking 500mg capsules 4 times per day.
Since this cancer is in my lymph nodes - which is your immune system.... it usually metastasizes (moves) to somewhere bad..... so no growth and no metastasis is just about the best possible result I can hope for.

Hey Greg, are you still using the same CBD oil from your first diagnosis several years back?
I’m sorry —- I didn’t see this post!!
I have switched my CBD to CannaKids version — and the CannaKids THC.....
Now — having said that — since my second diagnosis of cancer - this time in the Lymph Nodes and Lungs..... I did the 60 grams in 90 days thing — then just went with CBD only for maintenance (it has a small amount of THC) — so was doing 4/10ths of the syringe - it’s 800 mg of CBD — with 41 mg of THC (so 320mg of CBD and 16 mg or so of THC) — so was maintaining this intake - nighttime only.... for months now....
LATELY — Because of complaining to my NEW canna coach — I switched to “micro dosing” — taking small amount in the morning - noon - afternoon - and a bit more at bedtime - so taking in MORE THC — less CBD — and not having that “hung over til noon” feeling every day. I’ve added a PAX 3 vape thing and keeping the heat low - so vaping “flower” for getting some directly in to my lungs. Turns out — if you keep the heat down low - the flower doesn’t “smoke” - when it doesn’t burn the THC - you get the good stuff but without the “high”..... Learning all this as I go - but as of this May — I’ve managed to make it 3 years — not the 6 months they gave me in 2016!! Funny —- I also - at the advice of my coach - switched to Sativa flower (Maui Wowie) - and away from the heavy Indica..... and I have to tell you she has me feeling 400% better. Wake up feeling good — doing some stuff during the day — and NO napping — or rarely napping..... where I was sleeping during the day a lot... and just not feeling well. I’m very thankful for her help.

So this update won’t be fun for anyone to read....
I had a PET Scan Friday — and the docs called and their words were “it’s spread everywhere”. Bones - glute (weird huh) - galbladder - soft tissue in my back (the stab wound I described on Facebook)... many more lymph nodes - lungs.... and a cyst on the brain. Yep - that’s pretty much “everywhere”.
I know in my heart that THC and CBD is what got me the extra 3 years I’ve had since the first “you’ve got 6 months to live”.... and I probably should have taken more and done it for longer with the second diagnosis... but I wanted to experiment and see if I could just hold it at bay with CBD and less THC so that quality of life would be “balanced” — less high — thus more “doing”. The things I like to do are not conducive to being stoned. So I went with an attitude of “if I can just stretch this out a bit” versus going for a complete cure.
I did the 60 grams in 90 days the second time around — and when my next CT scan showed the cancer spot had only grown 1cm — I was good with that “pace”. The difference was it didn’t knock it clear out like it had with my liver cancer. I knew this was going to be a tougher battle because of the location. The lymph nodes vs the liver. The liver is going to filter 100% of your blood so it’s going to get a full on hit of the THC/CBD - whereas the lymph nodes live in a different environment.... they use lymph fluid.... As I sit here today - I’d have made the same choice.
What I did wrong was to stop taking anything when the Mayo guys said I had cured the liver cancer (9 months after the initial diagnosis). I should have probably kept up with a maintenance dose. But chose to keep my ammo dry and stopped taking anything. My thinking at the time was - I don’t want my body to get used to this - I’d rather keep this in reserve for a full shock and awe should I need it again. Who the Fk knows. It’s just guessing. I’m still happy I stayed away from the whole chemo bit.
So I’ve traded in the “pot” for morphine..... now it’s just managing end of life. What a long strange trip it’s been!

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said.
How trivial the rest of what we gather here for seems today. It really is all about the friendships we make and sharing our life experiences with others.
You are so treasured by so many because your willingness to share your wisdom & experience in everything from building and repairing cars, to building personal finance, and even your journey fighting this ugly disease. All this mostly with people you've never even met.
If the true measure of a man's wealth is the friends he makes along the way, you, our friend, are vastly wealthy.

With the knowledge you shared here, I was able to help promote the use of CBD/THC with my Grandmothers cancer as well. She kicked off all her meds and just ran with CBD/THC for a couple weeks, and it was the best she felt, and got my mom and family a few extra weeks with her that they wouldn't have had if they would have stuck with the morphine. Thanks Scott.... It’s okay - glad you didn’t go out of your way — that’s family time and should be respected as such. Hope it was a good trip for all.
All along this “journey” — I’ve made decisions based on what “I” wanted the outcome to be — knowing that my decisions may be the wrong ones medically - but the right ones for ME. I never was going to do chemo and radiation — and certainly not after having my cells examined by Foundation One which said NO known chemo was a match for what I had.
QUALITY of life should be the focus - not length of it. If I was to live 3 more years - but be spending that time in a chemo room — and the hospital - and taking all manor of pills for the ills that come with that way of treatment — I say NO THANK YOU. I’ll take the time I have — do that as clear and unobstructed as I can - and run with it. That was my choice all along - still is.
Now — I’m positive - 100% — that the treatment of THC/CBD got me to this point. I’d argue to the death with anyone that thinks otherwise. I know how I’ve felt - I know what I did. Now — that’s where I would say that I possibly made choices that were for me vs length of life. I should have stayed dosing THC with the CBD the ENTIRE TIME since day one. However.... I didn’t want the associated “high” that came with it — and so I choose to do more CBD and very little THC.... I know it’s the THC that fights the cancer — but hoped that the CBD would at least hold it off and stretch out some time - while giving me the quality of life I desired. As I sit here now - I would not have changed the choices I’ve made.
I’ve said from day one — I’ve lived one hell of a great life. Would I like to continue that forever? Sure. We all would. But I have no regrets and feel that I’ve actually probably lived about two lifetimes. It’s only when discussing with buddies on the “text train” and I reminisce about life’s adventures — that I shake my head and think — this whole thing must sound “made up” because it’s so incredulous! Since my early teens - it was WOT - one adventure after another - and only seems to have accelerated in the last 30 years.
Life is a weird game — ups and downs - wins and losses... but when I stop and assess what’s the biggest thing in life for me — it always comes back to the people. The people I’ve met - the people that have been able to do things with - the people that have reached down and pulled me up - the people I’ve pushed up from the bottom.... in the end - that’s the only thing I’ll miss.

I just hope the “government” gets off it’s stupid ass and allows some real research into the stuff. Maybe it’s just all in our heads - and maybe there’s some real actual medicinal uses....we won’t know for years. But it’s baby steps and I for one, never thought we’d even be this far along!

Thank you for the information. I found this place awhile back but just did reading and researching for my project. It was about that time when I was diagnosed with cancer and found this thread by Greg. I contacted him and through messaging we had some meaningful discussions and he gave me so much information and names of people he recommended. Through that I was involved with another person of great help to me. This have given me a little more faith in humanity. That people who don't know one another can help in such meaningful ways. Nothing was asked in return. I am forever grateful to Greg and others for their help. Totally selfless acts of kindness. And I continue to fight everyday.... F*** Cancer......

Adrienne Weld is at the GoodGuys Northwest with Greg's Truck this weekend. Stop to see her. She will be more than glad to accept your donations in person

Condolences to the Weld family!
Though I never met him in person, he was a real addition to Lat-G and other sites he frequented (OK, you've already figured that one out). He will be missed!
God bless.
