Hi Guys..... anyone know how a guy could go about getting a few tickets to SEMA..... I build and restore cars for myself and friends, but not as a "business". Have wanted to go for years, but could never get a line on tickets.....
Thanks in advance, Dave

Sign up as a business its around $100 a ticket and if you want to play you must pay. Worth signing up cause you get to get info sent to you if you find something you want and people will take you serious. SEMA guys do not like tire kickers they are there to make money.

Thanks guys..... I think I may just do that.....sounds like I would have to get an official "business license" with the state to prove to SEMA that I am legit??

That is the way I read it. Get ready to pay business taxes to the state also.

I agree!! The Craigslist option may be the better way to go!! Wish it were open to the "general public".

Have you met the general public lately? Lol.
I can't get tickets either, but when/if I do, I think I'll be glad it's not open to your average tire kicker. The vendors can only make it as amazing as it is because it's not full of people there to see a car show. That said, anyone get me in? Lol

General public was probably a bad choice of words.....Maybe Lateral-G Members should get a shot at tickets :) Pretty sure most of the guys on this site are spending a ton of money on "parts" and with builders too. I get it though...the vendors spend a lot of time / money to be there and they want to make sure their time spent is with those who are most likely to do business with them.

I go every year.
There are NO tickets to SEMA. Qualified attendees register and get a pass with their name on it.
So if someone sells or lets another person use his pass they are at risk of losing their qualification status.

SEMA does do a car show, It is open to the public Friday after SEMA closes. They move the cars to another lot across the street (who ever wants to participate) and they announce the Battle of the builders at that show. You have to get there early cause it gets dark soon after it starts.

I've been once, would love to go again. The crowd just of the "certified" people is huge. If it was open to the general public I don't believe you would have room to even move.

It's called sema ignited, and it is no comparison to sema itself. Just sayin

Also make sure you don't double park or jay walk on your way there:poke: lol. Seriously though, I haven't done it because I don't have to, but I see passes for sale on Craigslist by the dozens the month of, and moreover, the week before and during. I'm virtually certain that if you did go that route, and walked politely and humbly through everything just soaking it in, you, and the 'seller', would be more than fine. And with that attitude honestly you'd be more mature that many legal goers. Sema is an amazing one of a kind spectacle, but also chalk full of crazy idiots that want nothing more than to molest your vehicle. Period.

Correct. On occasion I've known guys that lend their passes to other car guys/friends for a day they are not going. Has never been an issue.
