Hi!
I have purchased a ls1 from corvette 04. I'm looking for accessory drive or experience about it.
Have been looking at this:https://www.holley.com/products/ls_power/accessory_drives/complete_accessory_kits/parts/20-143

Anyone using that? Like those like concept one and such but that kind of money is not what I have in mind.

It seems like the alternator is getting really "far out" from the engine here though on the Holley kit. Looks not that good.

Also been thinking of doing brackets my self. I have a couple of skilled friends working in cad and cnc but then I need something to start with.

Any suggestions or inspiration?

What car are you putting the engine in? You may be able to use factory GM brackets to make the kit you have on the engine already work. We do it all the time for LS conversions just need to know what car you are doing to see if we have a fitment of part numbers for it.

The Holley kit is basically the same as the C5/C6 Corvette accessory drive except it uses the less expensive truck style alternator. I am using it on my Cougar and with some creativity, you can make it look good.

Pretty much what I am running. Jim will spray it black to match the engine bay. It's a decent looking and affordable option.

Andrew that's a sick picture. Post a few more of the car will you. :captain:

Here is a nice kit from Pace Performance.

http://paceperformance.com/i-6485404-19299070-cpp-accessory-drive-system-without-a-c-fits-ls1-ls6-engines.html

You could also source the parts from Rock Auto except the power steering bracket, they can be purchased on eBay.

You already have the vette balancer, so the CTS accessory drive will work.

T,

That's look really good! Thanks! Will look closer to that.. I would like to have the alternator on the bottom like that but as far as I can see almost everyone is having them on top at driver sides.

T,

Do you know if this will work in a f body 67? Does it have room to have the alternator placed like that? If so it looks like the kit I will get!
Asked the tech support at pace p. also and they would get back.

Don't know about a 67, but the only thing that might cause a problem would be steering box interference.....but I think the alternator is tucked in enough. Used the same thing on 63-67 Chevy 2 Novas with stock clip and it all cleared....

T,

Well it maybe work then? The nova is similar in the front as far as I know? Without being an expert... Would look good to have it down there.

Good price!
But if there possible to hide the alternator I will go with that. Maybe more easier to se when the engine is in the subframe.

Or maybe it is the 68-72 nova that is the same...

68-72 Nova is almost same as Camaro, 62-67 are completely different. The accessories Pace recommends are essentially Corvette, much like the Holley..

yes you can use the holley setup in a first gen camaro no problem. if your using it for the p/s alt you will need to use the smaller p/s pulley to clear your upper control arm. you can find the info and part # by looking at the install instructions.

You can use either the kit (listed above that mounts the Alternator high) from Pace or the Holley kit. The only difference is the Holley kit uses the truck style alternator. The Pace kit is great for the price. The Holley kit is nice because it is one stop shopping. I have the Pace one in my 68 and a local buddy with the Holley one in his 69. Plenty of clearance using the stock PS pulley that comes with the kit. Won't go wrong with either one. If you add AC, the Holley AC bracket (like Samckitt shows) is the same exact setup I have in my car.

That's what I just put on my LS3 in my '73 Camaro - a Piece of Artwork! Great Guys to deal with - I've got a problem with my Reservoir hitting my Steering Box but they are making it right

Comes down to budget. Some of the accessory kits run 3,000 which IMHO is crazy. The Holley set-up, granted not as "Trick", is 1,200.

Just buy the original Gm kit 19257325. Instead of the more expensive copy Holley makes.
