I may be moving from Oklahoma to the San Diego area in a few months and will not be able to afford a house with a garage like my current set-up. I have a 30'x40' shop and 2 muscle cars and a few motorcycles. I may be able to get by with a 3 car garage, but I was hoping to find a little more space than that. I was wondering what other people in Southern California do for garage space. Are there affordable car storage/ workshop spaces anywhere in SoCal?

What about getting a couple of lifts for the garage space you'll have (if ceiling height allows it)? A 4 post lift will give plenty of storage and you won't have to worry about your cars ever being out of your sight.
It also might be cheaper then the rent you'll pay in the long run.

I would look around in some of the industrial parks near your new home.

Garage space can be hard. If you get out of SD and go somewhere more rural, you're more likely to find a bigger garage or the land to build a bigger garage.
Most people in SoCal don't seem to care about garages. Houses have a single or two car, which is usually filled to the brim with junk.
Good luck!

Florida too! Might be because we don't have basements or attics to throw our junk into.
