Ok guys... I have the opprotunity to pickup a 69 Camaro rag top for about 22,500us. The car is great shape, save for a couple of small bubbles on the quarters and somme mechanical maintenance. The car has not been butchered at all.
Is this reasonable? I figure it is on the high end, but that I still will not lose any money on the car.
Opinions please!

What are the other options on this car, motor size, stick or auto , SS, RS ect.? Make sure you get it on a rack and have it checked out for any rust, check the frame rails ect..

It is an SS( I suspect a clone tho). 350/TH350 powertrain with a 12 bolt posi. Rear brakes have been swapped to a disc set up. It has aftermarket wheels, nothing special tho.
A little more info for you.

That is something you really want to find out. Check the cowl tag on that. Also make sure the tag itself wasnt tampered with. But SS or not could make a difference as far as what you are willing too and should pay.

What on the cowl tag should I be looking for? I'm a Buick guy!
I know the guy selling it, he's an acquaintance, and he is not holding it up as a guaranteed SS. I just want to be sure that I will get my money out of the car if I have to turn it over for any reason tho I definitely don't plan to.

This will help decode it. An SS in 1969 was an X55 code I believe. I also think however that early build 69's did not get X codes? Someone can help me out here. If its original car, the rearend will be a 12bolt on an SS as well.
Hope that helps

SS or not a 69 convert in decent shape for 22K is a very good price.
