Hi all, I am trying to gain some insight.

I own a 69 camaro that is currently under the knife getting some upgrades. My dilemma is, the speedtech pro touring subframe is only 4599 now. I already have the tall ATS spindles. Now I can afford the new subframe but it is really worth the extra money over just getting the speedtech arms and sway bar? I really would like to run a 275 tire up front to offset the 335 in the rear but I am just trying to get some reviews of the speedtech subframe complete vs stock subframe with tubular geometry corrected parts. Thank you all.

Keith

Are you going hardcover race car or just weekend warrior? I am doing stock sub welded seams with the full GT package. Should be more than enough for spirited driving.

Weld the frame up. Get this http://www.speedtechperformance.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=260/category_id=23/mode=prod/prd260.htm

Have them add this

A lot depends on your budget.

Steve I assume his budget is at least 4500 since he wants the complete subframe. Check his OP. If Speedtech is his company of choice the links I gave him are his best option for complete suspension on his budget?

OP wants to run a 275 up front. Not impossible, but tough to do with stock frame, and is very expensive.
I'd say new subframe...

Yes I can get the subframe, it is currently in my budget but didn't know how much better the subframe actually is over just arms and bolt on suspension

Don't take our word for it

See what Mary had to say.

this Nova has the GT package mentioned above with the addition of the Rack And pinion,
since you have the ATS spindles, (if they are the tall ones) we would swap the standard upper control arms for the high clearance ones and then a 275 will be no problem on a 8,5 or 9" rim. you may loose some turning when the tire touches the frame on the back side.

The biggest advantage of the subframe is the coil over combo and the improved motion ratio, tire clearance. weight, strength, looks, and if your sub is bent or rusted.
we can upgrade to the Chicane weld in coil over set up as well.

If you go with the subframe I would be interested in your castoff ATS spindles!

He will be able to use them on either sub frame

I just wanted to give a big thanks to Blake
for answering a few of my questions on my
phone call this afternoon as I try to figure out
things for my ever changing Firebird... clears a lot
of things up for me

I just wanted to note that I do run a 245/315 combo
on my Pantera and it sticks real well with good tires
Of course weight distribution is a lot different that
what our pro touring cars have

As I said before on this very subject. If I could do it all over again (witch I may be doing) I would go completely SPEED TECH all the way . Great product and customer service. You will not go wrong at all with there setup.
