Has anyone seen stuff like this before?
I'm thinking about getting one as they said if I were to supercharge my engine, that it would fit. What do you guys think?

I think it would look reaaaal funny if its sitting high off the engine like they are on their cars, however if you had it sitting down on the intake, and converted the intake to efi and use a slim throttle body it could look pretty sweet.
I say just save up a little more and get a sheetmetal intake and not have anything to cover up

What do you guys think? I'd rather poke my own eyes out with a red-hot butter knife than click that link again.

I take it that you didn't like it? If I may ask, why?

1) They're WAY too expensive
2) They're the ugliest thing I've ever seen
3) They add wieght to your car with no benifits
4) They're not "custom". If you called them and gave them your own design to build for you, then they'd be custom. I won't deal with a company that thinks I'm stupid.
5) Ugly again.
6) These are almost as bad as those fake turbo air cleaner deals.
If you like 'em, that's all that matters. But you asked for opinions. :)

Seems to me like it would be on an engine that, when asked what all was included in the build up, the answer would be:
"That motor has got the whole 9 yards"

So I guess, I should just say no.

It would look good on a gold chainer's, all billet, Boydster show-queen that has everything else "custom made" for his car.
on a street machine.....not so much...please refer to Matt's answer.

So I guess, I should just say no. Absolutely not. If you like it, that's all the reason you need. So what if some guy you don't know hates it!

I kinda tend to agree with that comment. And damn, to hear who's fingers it was typed from!!!! Ok, so it's not much of a surprise. But I do agree with it. Are you going for performance or looks? I guess if you'd want to spend the money on it and make it look like a fake plenum, do what you like. I am just not a fan of covering up an engine.

Maz,
Based on the formula that K&N uses to compute air filter area, we should all be running filters the size of pizza boxes. The filters in these assemblies all seem small. Some of the designs have larger filters, but they are located close to sources of heat. And none of the designs seem to possess direct inlet path.
These may work okay on a 300 horse targetmaster 350, butif you're making any sort of real power, you should pass.

Your car looks great already. Please don't get the fake intake looking air filter. Trust me your car looks great and better without it.

You obviously liked it otherwise you wouldnt have posted up the link. Do as Matt said, if you like it...buy it, other wise you're building YOUR car for other people & as has been said numerous times by board members regarding the high end price of things ie DSE frame/billet hinges etc, "it's MY car & I'll spend my money as I like", now you're being told not to 'cos THEY don't like it. You're just falling into the trap of trying to appease your peers by buying what THEY like.If YOU like 'em get 'em. hth. :)
