My Chevelle has been driveable for the last couple months, and I've logged almost 500 miles. Started with my "go to" mufflers which are Flowmaster. I'm their biggest fan. I've bought many through the years, always on either a sbc, or a mustang. Love them!
Well with my LS engine in this car, it just didn't work for me. The drone was bad, and they were just too loud...man I'm getting old. Searched the net on youtube for LS sound clips, and came across one I loved, so I ordered a set. Borla XS Pro. They are about perfect for my taste, and very, very little drone, that I could probably tune out with an X-pipe.
Do what I did. Search the LS sound clips on youtube. There are tons of them!
6.0 LS with 823 heads, and long tubes. Mast cam and electronics.

We have started using Hooker Blackheart mufflers @ DSE. I am in love with the sound. We always used Borla before.

I'm running the old school 40 series 2.5" Flowmasters with an x-pipe. It's got a raspiness that I hate but supposedly these LS engines create a more raspy sound. Was told I need to scrap the x-pipe and use an h-pope instead but my exhaust guy said it wouldn't make a difference.

I have Spintech mufflers on my Camaro and love them. Very deep and sound like a muscle car should.

I do like Magnaflow but they can be pretty loud. My dual 3" into a single 3.5" is LOUD. It even has dual 3" cats on it (hi flow) and still went 138mph in the 1/4 all motor.

Dynomax makes an UltraFlo which is one of the quieter mufflers I have run.

Here was my Laguna Seca 92db exhaust.... single 3.5" into dual 3" UltraFlo mufflers. It was stupid quiet and still ran 1:33 there not fully pushing it. 2470lbs wet.... 12:1 compression 438ci with stock LS3 heads/intake, GSR dog box, 18x12's all corners only 530rwhp/510rwtq but torque everywhere.

I am running the Black Widow Pro Venoms, and really like them. I'm one of the few running a big block in my car (Shafiroff 540 Ultra Street) and recently converted the car over to a complete DSE set-up and had the opportunity to have the exhaust redone.....I did however, keep my Black Widows and incorporated them into the new exhaust system.

Old set-up....

New set-up with DSE Q-link and 3-inch exhaust...

I have Spintech with an LS3 and if the revs climb fast, the drone is unbearable. They were great with the 400 Pontiac. Also looking for something quieter and drone free.

I was limited to picking a smaller sized muffler for my limited clearance. I also didn't want the traditional raspy tinny crackly sound of most aftermarket LS3 exhaust.... I went with QuickTime Performance AR3 mufflers. The deep tone they produce is very amazing. They are louder than I would have thought but I also should realize anything with long tube headers, no cats, and 3" exhaust will just be noisy and there's not much around that.
