Item Location (City/State): Derry, NH

Price: 650 plus the ride/fees

Description:

Bought this to go on a motor that ended up with a carb. Its been sitting and could use some polish. Never been run, still has the factory plugs in it.

Includes the wiring harness, ECM,throttle body, injector rails and sensors. It's a good upgrade for someone with an old school distributor style Vortec, or someone adding Vortec heads.

You will need to add injectors and tune the stock Vortec ECM.

Get ready for race day with more dependable fuel management!

Man I want this but not sure how well it will match up to my 406sbc with GMPP Fastburn Heads and a Comp 280h cam. Im wondering if it will choke the engine being that its a 406. Also, how to tune it is another question I have. Any insight/help is appreciated. Im trying to research now. This would find its way into my 64 Chevy II.

I think it would be fine. Fastburn are Vortec L31 heads in aluminum. The Ramjet 350 used cast iron Vortec heads.

"It made 335 hp with the truck heads and averaged 348 hp with both sets of Vortec Bow-Tie heads, as well as GM's aluminum Fast Burn heads."

HP Tuners can tune the L31 designed software/computer or you can re-pin and run an 0411 computer. There are many folks with the software and a dyno ;).

You would need to match injectors to your cam/engine. You may also need a different distributor, since the ECM wants to control timing. It will also want an 02 sensor.

What ECM comes with it? Is it the 0411?

Nevermind, I see it is the stock vortec and not the 0411 PCM

I have an 0411 I can sell with it, but included the stock Vortec this intake set up.

What horsepower will this support?? I don't know the differences in the ECM's, but would like to put this on my car.

Interested!!

I'd say whatever your heads would. If HP is a large concern, I'd port this intake to match the porting on your heads.

They call it a ram jet because it's a tall tunnel port ram intake. Similar to the intake on the old corvette LT1 and LT4 motors of the 90's.

Thanks for the info. The other parts you have (ECM, harness) are they from a Ramjet, or some other stuff you have priced together? I thought the Ramjet crate motors came with a very basic harness and a small black ECM?

I have a 98 Vortec harness and Vortec ECM, as they allow a lot more flexibility and tuning than the MEFI3 that originally came with this. Things like HPTuners or EFI Live have no issues with the GM stuff.

With the L31 stuff, Ted Janetty at Janetty Racing could tune it for you. Swap to an 0411 computer and you get a whole lot more flexibility.

Still thinking about this. How complete is the parts list you have? What more would I need to collect to get this installed and running?

I have the intake, throttle body, fuel rails, Vortec L31 ECM, Vortec L31 wiring harness. Various sensors but don't remember what's on there or needed to run.

You would need injectors, a distributor (Vortec L31 is cheap) and a few sensors.

Perhaps you should take a look at the raw intake:

They have a parts list.
